slideshare traffic trackable?

I have put up a few different presentations on slideshare that have hyperlinks back to my site. They have gotten a couple hundred views each, but zero traffic sent back to my site, according to google analytics.

My question is, is can google analytics detect that the traffic came from slideshare, or are these people showing up as "direct traffic" ? or is it that no people are clicking through to my site?

you could use bitly for your hyperlinks and track them that way

You can also use http://goo.gl from google

Slideshare is one of a good place to do backlinking and the links are dofollow. So Google Analytic should be able to track the traffic from the site if it do have.
To be more accurate , you can use URL shortener like goo.gl , bitly to shorten the URL and place in the slide, so you can see how many clicks from there.
