"New" Social Networking Site Script/Software

SOCIAL NETWORKS

Well well. It's amazing the things one will run up on with enough poking around. This may not be new to some of you, but I was surprised to stumble upon it. It's a script/software that is Open Source you can use to build your own social networking site.

I've been in chat with the folks at HostGator this morning, hoping to get it set up as a one-click install for those of us who use it (they don't offer it yet), but if you're happy using FTP, and you like the script, go to Oxwall ® - PHP Social Networking Software | Community Script and check it out...might work if you're looking to be the next Facebook. LOL

By the way, I am in no way affiliated with this. Just found it when looking for something that would serve my needs. Nice find, I'd say. Enjoy!

Interesting. I have a great domain name that I was thinking about using for a social site. The hard thing is trying to find time to manage it with everything else I am trying to do.

That certainly looks interesting... I wonder how much better it would be than a Wordpress install with plugins that do all that functionality?

Looks cool. I built my social network from scratch which was costly but makes us unique. I think that considering the facts that this is open source and free, using it as a base to build off of, can really help.
