How do you get the first few likes?

I am slowly growing a website. I just launched a Facebook page and Twitter account for it. How should I go about getting the first few likes and follows? An no, I'm not paying anyone on here for them. Any tips on an organic way of starting out?

    For you to gain Facebook likes. Make sure you keep your fan page alive! Make it a party there! Depending on your focused niched. Post inspiration quotes with pictures. Ask questions. Create events. Build relationships to your fans. Start commenting to other fanpages/famous people. I suggest you use your fanpage name when doing this rather than your own persona name.

    The same way with Twitter, build relationships.

      As Dash0205 has siad post quotes but I would also add post humerous pictures (search on Google for them) and even nice pictures. Do this for a while before putting any links to your sales page. Also post on competitors pages (posting as your page) but make the content complimentary and informative.

      Similar technique on twitter. Follow people with similar interest (you can do that via twitter search) and tweet humerous and informative tweets for a while before tweeting links to your sales page/website.

      Just try out a few of these, you'll eventually find what works for you and your product/service.

      You can also post/tweet videos.

    why don't you try facebook ads?for 10$ you can get hundreds of likes to start which is still almost free.

      Firstly invite your friends to join the page. This will at least give you some initial likes for the page which can also be shown on your friends newsfeed (seen by their friends).

      Like other pages with similar interests to you- more a reciprocal arrangement.

      Post relevant information so users stay engaged and are more likely to interact.

      Lastly, link through from your website (if you have one) as this is ready made traffic and the users are more likely to like the page.

    To get the first few likes
    1. Creating a new Fan page and Add Fan Page Like Button To Blog or Website.
    2. Tell it to your best friends about your new fan page and its purpose, they will be excited to like your page.

    For both facebook and twitter you can run ad campaigns to get likes and followers. Twitter just recently opened up Twitter Ads to everyone, and you can usually get followers for less than $1 per follow depending on the targeting. Keep in mind if you want any decent results, you should only use Facebook and Twitter's own ad network; do not buy bulk followers from websites that sell them, because those are all fake.

    I cannot express this enough. Social ads is the number 1 way. If you use the old Adrian Morrison trick to create a ad that brings likes and sales it usually has good success. Here is the formula my friend.

    FACEBOOK HIGH CTR FORMULA= AIDA
    * Attention
    * Interest
    * Desire
    * Action

    So If you create an ad in this order with a " Call To Action" as the last line you can nearly get anyone in your niche to click on your add and raise your likes. Also you can send them straight to your money site.

    *Ad Title is always the DESIRE
    *Ad picture is the ATTENTION part of the ad
    *Ad body is Interesting and leads into a call to ACTION

    So let's recap ATTENTTION+INTEREST+DESIRE=ACTION= HIGH CTR

    I know that you don't want to spend single dime....

    However, the FB ad is still needed to boost a new FB page. Get first 500 or 1,000 likes from the FB ad then grow it without the FB ad by regularly post any useful posting to the FB page.

    Add widget to your blog. Make friends within your niche. Invite them to like your page. Post on many Pages with your URL, but don't spam. You can also like pages and invite their owners to do the same help for you.

    For Facebook fan page you can get first few likes by asking some of your friends on your Facebook profile. For Twitter followers search your niche related profiles in twitter search box. Find for one of the profile which looks daily users, find out retweets and favourite in one of their tweet and start following them. Now wait for follow back from those users. This is the finest way to find your potential followers.

    I find the MOST response comes from directly messaging your friends "Hey So and So! Would you do me some "LIKE-LOVE" on my new page? [fb.com/BSharpLLC] "

    If you do this on a 1:1 basis you can then follow up as well after about a week and nicely remind them. Don't be pushy, remember people don't necessarily login to FB every day!

    One step further would be ask 5 of your good friends if you can login with them and do these same steps with their friends. Don't have them do it for you, just ask for the login or have a FB promo party where you provide free Beer and Snacks in exchange for selling your buddies to the cause!
