How to generate a years worth of social media posts @ 3x per day

I don't stray into this part of the forum often but I've had a thought the last few days that has been bothering me.

I think I would like to promote my business on FB and Twitter (and possibly others). The thing is, I don't do anything unless I can do it on a large scale. So, manually putting a post up every day is just not an option. It's not enough and I don't have time.

If I am going to do it, I would do at a minimum 3 posts per day and maybe more.

I've been thinking, how can I easily generate 1,500 posts in advance?

One thought I have is to collect a bunch or articles, go to mechanical turk, and pay 20 cents for every tweet or post that people can generate from the article. But that's all I have come up with so far.

Any thoughts or other ideas?

Maybe I didn't explain correctly. I want to know how to CREATE a large number of posts in advance. I wont get into it if my only option is to write them manually one at a time - that is not scalable at all.

I want to have 1,500 posts/tweets created for me. There has to be a way that companies are doing this on a large scale other than someone sitting there searching and typing every day.

Elance, hire someone to post on your fanpage each day 3x a day. Pay them $30 a week to do it.

I thought of that but then I have to manage it daily. I have to make sure it is happening and approve all the posts.

If I have them all made in advance (maybe from a group of articles that I supply) - I can take an hour to approve them all, then set up the posts.

Then, I just interact with people as they comment.

Dan - wanted to ask whats the reasoning behind coming up with that many posts/tweets ahead of time? i.e. what was your original intent for it??

I just want to have them loaded up so it is happening without me thinking about it or managing it. As people respond or comment, I will interact with them obviously.

I run a marketing company, so these would be timeless posts. They are just as valid 9 months from now as they are today.

many companies hire people specifically for social media - on a contract basis or as full time employees. what you are describing does not make sense, as far as how social media is traditionally used by most people.

What you're thinking of might work for blog posts, Dan, but on social media it's completely unfeasible. The point of social media is personalized interaction, to-and-fro communication, the ability to react in real-time to actual events and "newsjack" that spontaneity to an audience advantage. The best example I can think of is the Oreo Tweet during the Superbowl blackout: prepared in 15 minutes, 15,000 retweets, 20,000 FB likes.

You could hire someone to write a year's worth of copy for you, sure. What would be the point though? Any business model based off large-scale social media content creation is, with all due respect, inherently flawed. You will fail to capitalize on the inherent advantages of the medium; it'd be like putting out a static black and white image with no audio for 30 seconds on a TVC.

The best solution I can think of would be to hire a full-time social media person, someone who's FB/Twitter savvy and knows how to work the medium properly. Otherwise I wouldn't suggest you bother. The viral nature of online content is such that a bungled social media strategy can be potentially far more damaging to your brand than social media absence.

Thank you for your reply. This seems odd to me. I follow many people and businesses and I regularly get quotes, witty comments, and links to articles from them. There is no reason these aren't scheduled far in advance.

My posts would be distilled from a group of articles related marketing (I don't offer SM marketing obviously) - they are stable. They don't get old. I would only need to have them made once and then schedule them.

I came here thinking that I would find some suggestions to make this happen smoothly - but I guess I am the first person to think of it! Just kidding.

Two examples I can think of right now are Jim Rohn and Tony Robbins. Jim has been dead for years and yet his quotes are timeless. Tony is consistently posting things that will never get old. I have no way of knowing whether these were typed out today or a year ago.

Perhaps the only way to do what I want to do is to hire a group of people to read the articles and make as many different posts as possible from each. These are long, research based articles with lots of different facts and ideas in each (think Harvard Business Review, my favorite mag). Each one would yield a dozen or more great posts.
