Pinterest is mostly focused on visual appeal. It would be good to have quality photos that will interest people who follow you to click and visit your site. The second step would be to connect with others and increase the number of followers. Interaction and connection with other users is also an important factor for success.

I would suggest you look at Pinterest for business, just Google it. I get a lot of trafice from Pinterest.

For every business image I pin, I pin about 10 non-business pins so it does not look spammy..

So far this is work well for me.

Pinterest is a good direct traffic source. If you can increase the number of followers you will find more traffic and one good tip is this that any thing you post or share in internet pin it to this thing show your diversifying work.

        Hey,

Pinterest is petty fun to use and a great social network / community to become involved in.

I would signup, make some boards (for groups of related images to be pinned), follow some people on different boards that represent your niche, etc. Some will follow you back. Post great images that people can't help but like and repin. Sometimes people with established boards will invite you to pin to their board. You can invite others to pin on your boards.

Pin images that interest you to your boards, not only business pins or pins to your content. I too make many pins that are not for my business or sites I own. For example I run a popular Squidoo board and pin images from many lenses, not just my own.

Hope this helps, just my 2 cents for what its worth. All the best in your pinning endeavors.

Awhile back, I saw some jewelry images on a Pinterest board along with a description and a note that let the viewer know the item was available for purchase. Apparently, the woman who posted the pins was a dealer for the jewelry company and using Pinterest as her personal website. She got many inquiries (via the comment section beneath the photos) as to how purchase could be made. It was a very interesting way to make sales and from what I remember, there were no negative comments about the 'spamming' use of Pinterest.

As everyone who has commented has said it is a great place to create visual content that attracts visitors to your site. Don't forget to verify your site.

            Now go forth and multiply

People also post from their Etsy accounts where they're selling handmade crafts or antiques and no one thinks twice about it.

Other people post recipes from their websites with a call to action "click for recipe" and that doesn't bother other pinners either.

The spammy pins are those that, for instance, show a woman in a bikini and the description says "If I can lose 50 lbs. you can too. See how I did it by clicking here" .... and this image is pinned on recipe boards or something equally as off topic for the pin content.

our pinterest board is a non performer for us which is little surprising because we sell female beauty products and pinterest has something like 70% female audience. Our facebook page rakes (especially international) for sales. Take look at our pinterest page and see if something we have missed: Guuky 100% pure natural cosmetics (guuky) on Pinterest

The problem is that you have very few followers. You need to follow other people so that you bring attention to your boards. Some of them will follow you back and re-pin your pins, which will allow their followers to see your boards and your products.

You should also "like" and re-pin other people's pins. Again, this will bring attention to your boards, allowing the opportunity for you to get more followers and re-pins.

There's a couple of things you can do to get things rolling.

1- Change your fB profile to a fB business page and run some"like" ads. (you can lose that profile page any time if fB catches on that it's not a "person" but a business) When you get about 1000 or so followers cross-promote some of your pins. (I just realized you're probably using the FB profile page to link Pinterest to fB b/c Pinterest doesn't connect Business pages to fan pages yet.)

2- Start following about 100 people per day over in twitter. After two days unfollow the people who haven't followed you back. Do this regularly. After you hit about 1000 followers you can up your following per day to 200. Participate in #FF (follow friday). Start cross-promoting your pins.

3- Fill in your Pinterest boards. There's a lot of "white space" where you have boards with just a few pins or no pins at all in them.

And I can see just from looking at the board "overview" that you're pinning the same images over and over. Honestly, I don't want to follow someone who keeps posting the same thing.

Then work on some of your board titles. For instance instead of "Food" you could name it "Food for Healthy Skin", from "Inspiration" to "Inspiration for a Healthy Soul". Let your boards "tell the story" of what your company is all about and how following you is going to help.

Then start interacting with peeps on Pinterest.

If you can join some group boards do it.

I have more Pitnerest Tips here --> http://www.warriorforum.com/social-m...ml#post7722524

4- Have a contest that crosses into all 3 social sites, if you can.

I don't know that I'd put a specific number on it, but yes, you definitely need to get as many followers as possible.

The best way to do that is to follow other people who have the same interests as you (or the topics of your boards), and re-pin their pins. This interaction gets them over to your boards and if they like what they see, they'll follow you.

    Pinterest Marketing means
    1. Create an account. If you are promoting a copany or brand then create an acount using the brand/company name.
    2. Create boards with the keyword names.
    3. Follow relevant boards of other users.
    4. Upload unique and relevant pictures in your boards.
    5. Try to follow as many people you can.
    6. Invite friends.

With Pinterest, use a good keyword for your Board's Name... I tell you, I get a good rank for a Board that I named based on my keyword. I was surprised too... but that's what I have learned few months ago!

the idea is simple... you build your friends, you add photos of your product, services or anything you are offering in the market. Your friends will pin your product's photo and it will go directly to their own account (which is directly linked to your website). It's basically bookmarking images from other pinterest users. Just imagine how much traffic can one pin drive to your account?

Most marketers pin images from their own websites so that it links back to their site. There are also a lot of public domain images available for free use.

But the majority of Pinterest users are not marketers and they're simply sharing images from any and all websites that they like.

As I understand it, Pinterest somehow falls under a creative commons license. (I think that's what it's called.)

If we were to use images from Google or some other website without permission on our own sites we could potentially violate copyright laws. But it's fair game to pin them on Pinterest.

Quote of the day, I love this!! So you're saying I can create a board within my niche, and pin pictures off google and facebook that fall into my niche, and make it so those pictures link back to my site, and it's okay as long as the picture isn't on MY site, but on my pin board?

No it doesn't. A creative commons license can only be granted by the original owner of the work.

Just b/c something is in Pinterest doesn't mean it's fair game. Even if I pin images from my site. You don't have the rights to use it whatever way you want. The sub-license only grants you the right to use it "solely for the purposes of operating, developing, providing, and using the Pinterest Products" not for promoting another site within Pinterest.

Pinterest TOS requires that you should have permission to pin (although many ignore this). And that you grant a non-exlusive royalty free ... sub-license.

If you don't have permission to do this your pins are subject to be removed from Pinterest and your account closed.

        a. Posting content

Pinterest allows you to post content, including photos, comments, and other materials. Anything that you post or otherwise make available on our Products is referred to as "User Content." You retain all rights in, and are solely responsible for, the User Content you post to Pinterest.

        More simply put:

If you post your content on Pinterest, it still belongs to you but we can show it to people and others can re-pin it.

        b. How Pinterest and other users can use your content

You grant Pinterest and its users a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable, worldwide license to use, store, display, reproduce, re-pin, modify, create derivative works, perform, and distribute your User Content on Pinterest solely for the purposes of operating, developing, providing, and using the Pinterest Products. Nothing in these Terms shall restrict other legal rights Pinterest may have to User Content, for example under other licenses. We reserve the right to remove or modify User Content for any reason, including User Content that we believe violates these Terms or our policies.
So if you use images from Google on another site within Pinterest it's considered "User Content" and you're held responsible for it.

If you didn't pin your content onto Pinterest and you want to remove it you have every right to "report the pin". And you can "report a pin" not directing to the correct website.

As far as I know, yes, that's correct. I've never understood why it's okay to change the links on Pinterest from the original source of the image to any other link we choose, but that's what people do.

I should add, though, that in my opinion it's much better to use public domain images or images from flickr, etc. just to be on the safe side.

Well, you need pictures, because that is what pintrest is all about. If there is no picture to pin, it doesn't work.

So, for recipes and crafts pintrest is a big hit. People have "boards" they keep, like "Ideas for my wedding," or "holiday crafts," "places I want to travel to" On their boards are pictures. If you click the picture it takes you to the website that it originated from. So it is really a way to keep and organize links.

People see their friend's pins and if you search on pintrest you can see any pin that is out there. So if you have a website, say, about making money, post some articles or blogs on your site (or other sites) promoting your book, product, affiliate, whatever, and make sure you have a picture included so it can be pinned.

Then make your own pintrest account and pin it. And have a little button at the end of your article or blog that will also allow others to pin it. Now people can either find your pin on pintrest (and you can label to tag it as you see fit) or if they find your article via another source they can pin it.

People do have boards about making money. They have boards about anything and everything.

    Hope this helps!

Most of the posts in this thread are suggesting what I would expect: Have multiple boards on various topics, pin 'some' content they goes back to your own site, make sure content is relevant, like and re-post others content.

However there are a number of WSO offers based on software that posts 000's of images which are automatically taken from google or flickr (copyright free is an option for most of them) - it would appear that many people are profiting from this type of cation and are carefully directing visitors to CPA offers (rather than just promoting their own business or site).

Does anyone use Pinterest to promote CPA or third party offers and what do you feel about the 'throw up 000's of images' vs having a tidy page with a small number of highly targeted content?

I've tried a few CPA offers with no luck, but that's not to say that it won't work for some people. It probably depends on the offer and the audience.

As for having thousands of images... well, you do want to constantly pin images to keep in front of your followers. But junky images won't get re-pinned by others so they won't do any good.

I prefer to spend a little more time locating GOOD images that will get a lot of re-pins, and therefore, get more views.

I have no experience doing this, from what I have read Pinterest ban direct links to CPA offers, but if you look at Darsh17, post immediately below yours the idea is to get people to your site them make the CPA offer.

Pinterest does ban certain links, including many CPA and affiliate networks, so you can't directly link to a CPA offer.

It's definitely more to your advantage to send people to your own site anyway - they can subscribe to your list, click your AdSense or other ads, complete a CPA offer, or purchase something you have for sale.

And if your site is filled with good content, they're likely to re-pin your images/information which will send more traffic to your site.

I do it manually with pinterest as I don't know if there is a software for it. But so far so good. Mix your own images with other popular images that are mostly pinned on pinterest this is what basically helps me achieve followers although its not that fast to gain lots of followers it takes time but its truly worth it.

When you interact with others by re-pinning or liking their pins, they're more likely to follow you and re-pin your pins.

As your following grows, you'll begin to gain more followers even faster because there will be more people to re-pin your pins and their followers will start following you too.

But yes the copyright thing make me little bit confused. How you get these huge number of images you put on your own site first and then to pinterest?

Where you get these images for your niche-for free?

The copyright thing; can you use images from a book you buy?

    ??????

    Anyone tips and helps?

    Hi,

when you use images for your niche who are from flickr and other sources, is that not the same as when you use the same content from other websites?

Also you pin images similiar to your niche who are on the web like flickr, these you pin it to get traffic to your site.

Does this work? User can see that you use web images to get traffic to your website.

I don't know does this works,I think you must have new pictures who are not on the web, then you will get pinter traffic and here is the problem, where to get the newest freshest pics who are not published on the web-this will be impossible.

?? Or can someone give tips and can share with his experience?

I have see there is a women who promote brand products and videos on pinterest, she use the product pics and videos from the manufacturer to share these on pinterest, I don't know how she do it.

Any tips here? Can I use amazon images as affiliate to share these on pinterest?

Many says an image will be shared 10 times in pinterest, with the number above that are 400 images, this will bring me 4000 followers?

How many of these followers will come to my website? 5%,10% ,30-50%??????
Or is that not enough share 100 images from my site to pinterest to get 3-5000 visitors every mobnth to my site?

Is pinter traffic an long stable business or short time, mean does the traffic to my site will stable flow for 1-2 years, or only short time for 3-5 months after then the traffic will stuck????

You can get a lot of free traffic an leads from Pinterest. You want to use the Pinterest Business page and then set up board according to a niche. Whatever picture you have you want to to make sure the file name has the keyword you want to use. This needs to be on your board, and in your description. Then make sure the link leads to some kind of page you can capture your traffic.

I not understand why many people wrote on their website, that you must create 10-20 pinterest boards to be legit..

Must I build 20 boards that I be a legit on pinterest? This is I be sure bs.

At the beginning I start with 2 boards, 1. board here are the pics I upload to get traffic to my website, 2,board; here are the pices I repin and share with others, at the beginning with pinterest it is 1 niche.

Later when I make success with pinterest, I will build larger niches where I can create 5-8 boards-these are 5-8 niche-sub niches.

Pinterest is an amazing traffic driving tool. If you have a large account (2k+ followers I believe), there's an affiliate network for Pinterest called Social Influence Marketing | Advertise Pals that you can join. They only focus on products that work well on Pinterest and give you images to use. If you have a decent account, you can easily make a couple hundred bucks a week.
