FB ad to WSO thread: disconnect?

Who else has tried using a FB ad to drive traffic to a WSO page?

I have been sending views to a high ticket WSO page that converts at 1-2% on this forum (it's a $497 offer). I can get clicks, 70 of them so far at a cost of under $65. The ad clearly states the buy price. So far I would have expected one purchase.

Should I continue or stop? Do I "know anything" from the data yet?

Thanks!

Depending upon how much profit per sale you would make, I guess you can test with some more clicks. This method is basically driving traffic to the top of the sales funnel, so you might see sales a week or so later. *might*

If I saw that ad, I would think, "Hmm...a $497 WSO? I've gotta see this..."

My point being that a lot of people may be clicking on your ad based on curiosity rather than an actual interest in the product.

Your ad could potentially have an outstanding ROI (like 500%) and you wouldn't know it. Even if it took you 250 clicks to make 1 sale, you would still more than double your money, right?

In general, though, I would expect your conversion rate to be substantially lower from FB traffic than from traffic on the forum. People browsing the WSO forum are there to buy. People who see your ad on Facebook, well who knows what they are doing, but they are far less likely to be in a buying frame of mind.

Have you considered sending them to an opt-in form and maybe giving them PDF or video with some good content that pre-sells your product? Then a good email sequence selling the product?

The purpose of a WF ad is to capture the attention of WF visitors, a FB ad for your WSO isn't necessarily a bad idea, but you might as well just make the FB ad to your landing page, actual site.

      1) Making a FB landing page would convert much worse than a WSO would. You fail to take into consideration the concept of 'social proof'

      2) After 70 clicks you cant know anything yet. Thats far to low of a sample. Wait until you have sent around 1000 clicks.

      3) I really really want to see this $497 WSO Can you PM it to me? Why isnt it in your sig?

**EDIT** It is in your sig LOL Im a dumass

Ya you looked at the correct one, I think you caught it in the middle of a test.

Now I want to take a look at the other $500 product that has been mentioned lol

Well you certainly know more from the data than we do because we have no clue about your targeting.

I am speculating but you should not expect 1-2% conversion rate from FB traffic. WF traffic is more targeted for your product and people in wso section are ready to pull the trigger so to speak, FB traffic is not. Maybe getting that traffic onto a list can get you better conversion but that is old and tired advice and you already know that.

All the best with your campaign and I will be glad if I am wrong.

    Cheers

With a high ticket offer like that I would first give them something free to get them on a list. Then I would heat them up with relevant information about the WSO topic, and THEN I would promote it.

$497 isn't chump change for most people, and they'll have to be a lot of trust before they pull the trigger.

The conversions are most likely high because people are sending traffic from their lists which they have already built trust with.

Thanks, everyone. Hadn't checked this in a couple days. Appreciate the answers...looks like a longer sales funnel is the best way to go.

That being said, I saw an offer from Tim Castleman last night for a $497 product.

Kicker: a 70 minute sales video!!
