    You could try some of the plugins for Firefox and chrome. SEO4Firefox is a good one and then there is the Mozbar for Chrome and Firefox.

    There are also free versions of some popular software out there. For instance Rank Tracker link assistant is a pretty good one. You can use open site explorer on a limited basis for free.

    • Shawn, just to clarify. You are probably talking about SEO SpyGlass, because Rank Tracker is for keyword research and keyword tracking.

      While SEO SpyGlass is a backlink research tool, which is now available to try for free till July 30, by the way (the Pro Version).
  • You can also try the free trial offer of subscription based tools like MOZ (formerly SEOMOZ) etc. You may even consider upgrading as backlink analysis done will more than make up for the investment.
