How often do you tweet and what about?

Hello!

I have recently started using tweeter to promote my website and I am getting around 100 followers a day. My site is very new and I would like to know what to tweet about and how often (how many times a day) to keep people interested.

Thanks for your replies

NB: Although I have the software Tweeadder, I've yet to learn how to use it.

People often share relevant articles based on their industry. If you're looking for some help finding appropriate articles to tweet, we can help you to automate this: TweetRock

I put my website as part of twitter profile.
When I tweet interesting things, some people follow me, and some visit my website.
Don't tweet too much, as it might push people to unfollow.

I would suggest breaking your tweets down by times of the day.

First tweet should be in the early morning.
People get a break for lunch and check their Twitter. I want them to see what I have to say so Second Tweet should be during lunch.
Third tweet should be shortly before people get off work. Many of the people in your audience will check their Twitter/e-mail before getting off work.
The fourth tweet should be around dinner time. People are home and checking their Twitter. They can now read what you have to say in the comfort of their own home.

Your tweets does not necessarily have to always be related to your niche/blog. You can sometimes send tweets such as greeting them in the morning, or sending them rainy day tweets on a rainy season such as "Rainy season is here! Don't forget to pack your umbrellas!"

    Hello Nicole Nahi,

Congratulations for your new website. Well, as you said that you are getting 100 Followers a day, this is huge number as according to a day. Tweet about your industry information and also reply the question related to your industry. Tweet 1 or 2 time about your website. This strategy will make sure that you are not spamming the tweets.

I Tweet a few times a day, nearly every day, sometimes lots of times a day if there is news to discuss. But I don't get many new followers and traffic from Twitter is very poor. If I didn't keep reading that Twitter was so important I wouldn't use it because it's useless for me so far.

    Hi Nicole,
I don't use Tweetadder anymore. For me HootSuite works better because you can plan tweet also if internet and computer is logged off.
I tweet about 5 times a day. Tip do not only tweet your business otherwise people gonna unfollow you because they want to know Nicole and not only your business. So I tweet about 5 times a day my business and also tweet about football, politics hobby etc .

As long your tweets are relevant and gives value to your Twitter followers, that may not be a problem no matter how many you tweet each day. For example, if you have a new published blog post, you can immediately tweet it to your followers. But if you are worrying about too many tweets in a day, only send around 5 or less tweets a day.

It is not necessary to tweet ''every hour'' really - I send out some tweets with ''at random'' stuff , like posting on my personal FB page - sometimes a link to a utube vid - a link to something newsworthy - and I sprinkle in an offer now and then - or a link to one of my sites - I have some nice traffic coming from those who read. But this is just my way of using twitter. If you really want to ''target'' then you should make up an account gaining only '' green energy '' followers ( EXAMPLE ) I did just that in the past and tried to sell some related books on fiverr but had no conversions...

I wouldn't worry about tweeting too much, the shelf life of a tweet is so short that most people won't notice. What I would do is start curating content, and using Bufferapp (free) to help with that.

I subscribe to a ton of blogs in RSS in Feedly then go through and share posts each day, up to 20 a day.

You can also get followers by following others, especially active accounts.

If you have any questions about my suggestions, hit me up on Skype: marygreencny I live social media and have a lot of blog posts that might help.

Let's say for instance that you have a weight loss blog. You could tweet short diet, health or nutrition tips several times a day. This concept can be applied to any niche.
