Advice needed for new software

I am thinking of developing a web-based solution to help webmasters to easily create marketing campaigns by leveraging social networks.

The basic idea is: instead of you spending time going on facebook/linkedin/whatever and advertising your site, you ask your site visitors to do it for you. For example, you ask your site visitors to invite their friends to like your site, and you offer reward by the number of friends they referred.

I want to gauge interest and look for directions. I have began coding, so I just want to make sure I am not going off-track. Thoughts/comments?

    Hai,

Its a very nice idea. But I doubt the reach. This is because, how far will the site visitors be interested in this. Because offering rewards is not possible for all kinds of websites. May be a few genre of sites can do this. However most sites cannot offer this.

    Just my thoughts.

    Thanks

@jameer: True, it shouldn't be meant for every types of sites. But for example, you run a hosting service right? I bet you run discounts/sales campaigns all the time, so you (and other hosting providers) would definitely be one of my target customers, I guess?

@brutecky: Right, social media marketing is nothing new. Just like SEO link builders, if you look at the BST section, there are hundreds of them. For me, I focus a lot on user experience and user interface: simple, clean design; flexible yet robust. And, it's going to be free.

Sounds no different than the multitude of existing sites / apps / services that do this right now in one way or another? Whats your unique spin?
