Rhyming Facebook Ad Poetry...Convert or Not?

Two nights ago I started a new ad campaign which was basically for ads that are "so crazy they just might work". The campaign was for a page in the 420 niche so I wrote a silly little 4-line quatrain where every line rhymed.

It was fun but I didn't think would perform compared to the classic CALL TO ACTION ads. I was happily surprised with a solid 1.21% CTR and $.02 per page like!

Here is the ad if you're curious and/or want to see some bad poetry:

Some ideas for application:

You are running PPC FB ads and want something that gets people's attention and gives you some visibility, but not that will cost you a lot of clicks. Write a poem that will make you stick in their mind in the future. Or use the poem as a call to action to visit your site directly or by searching in Google. PPC is an awesome way to get tons of visiibility and using a silly poem would work as a way to prevent clicks but have people remember you!

If there is a big news story going on that applies to your business/product, than you could write a poem about it and draw more attention than a normal ad would.

Obviously for anyone targeting writers, rapper or children book authors

Maybe it's not useful at all, but the fact that I can write ad copy in rhyming verse and broadcast it to thousands for just a few bucks is cool as hell even if just to amuse myself for a few hours.

Have a good weekend everybody!

Sorry to say this IS the classic call to action. There is a call to action in it, the last line. Nothing new here really.

Was not trying to come up with anything new, was just reporting on something I did.
