How I Easily Got 1,139 Facebook Likes In 1 Day (without spending a dime)

As you can see above, the Likes literally skyrocketed. I was averaging about 50-75 a day from just posting, and decided I want to get more.

This strategy works best if you at least have some Likes to your page.

I wouldn't recommend doing this with 0 Likes, do some work, then come back to this.

Either way, what you do is go to other pages (within your niche) and ask them if they would like to share each other pages.

(The common term uses is S4S meaning share for share)

Yup, that's all.

Now here are some tips on how to go about doing this.

1) Share with pages in your niche AND that have a similar amount of Likes as you. Face it, the million Likes Goliath pages aren't going to share your 200 Liked page that has no activity what so ever. Then again, if you are smooth and play your cards right, you just might strike gold. I recently got a page that was over 10 times bigger than mine to share, but that part, you'll have to figure out yourself

2) Look for pages where people are asking for shares. They already understand what they need to do, so it's easy to set up with these pages.

3) For the pages that don't know what the hell S4S is, talk to them, let them know how it works, and even offer to share first so that eliminates the whole idea of them not trusting you.

4) Profit. I mean, you are monetizing your Facebook page ... right?

Go get 'em tiger

Thanks for this wonderful tip I will be putting this into practice. Couple of questions..

    1. Can you give us an example of how you go about sharing you're pages?

    2. How often do you do this?

Definitely, once you have setup the share with someone, and they agree to share your page if they share yours, on anyone's Facebook page, under their cover on the right there is an icon of a wheel, click on that and click Share... Either that, or simply sharing a popular status update or picture works as well.

Just started as you can see from the graph, was 2 days ago, (the stats are delayed on FB) Yesterday I did it a couple times, and today a couple more. Looking at another thousand likes and I have another huge page sharing as well. I'll keep updated with stats

          Excellent tip, and thank you.

I have an active Health and Fitness niche page with 7K+ likes (all likes from FB ads) if anybody is interested in S4S, just send me a PM.

    • I find creating pictures/ posters is a great way to build your page because people do like to share something that is visual and attractive. It can still have your message without loosing impact.. Also if you dont have a program to create the pic you can use pics from google image and before you upload it you can add your message so it appears as part of the picture (but above it) and again a good pic will catch someones eye rather than just text... Check out my page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Build...97635466936127 to see what I mean.. Tony

      • Also if you are into S4S there are groups out there or you can start your own.. between 5-10 poeple where you share each others posts everyday so you know that your shares are guaranteed. I did this for a while but you have to make sure that you all have the same message or you are doing a disservice to your true fans.

Also FB are smart buggers they want you to pay for promotion so if I have a page with 50k and I share from a page with 50k the shared post will be seen less that my own post.. for eg I post something it may get shared 100+ times but if I share a post it may only get 20 shares, nothing you can do about this. In the end I have stopped doing s4s because it doesnt really help me via the other page and I am 80 shares down on my own page.

what I have found works really well, using photo quotes. I have a bunch of pages that I visit regularly and upload a picture (shows on the right hand side of their page) but it gets seen by their fans, it gets likes, shares and new people come to your page. If you upload fb doenst spam it but if you copy and past a link to the page and post it fb suspends your account pretty quick.. likewise if you copy and paste anything repeatedly even to multiple pages FB suspends you as spam.

hope this helps.... I found that out the hard way.. FB banned me from posting or commenting for 90 days.. so had to find a way around it...

use common sense. As you can read in messages on this thread it doesn't take much for FB to suspend or ban your account. If you are brand...it really isn't worth that risk.

Nice tip. Is there any difference between them clicking the share button from your site with a post versus them creating a new status update mentioning it in terms of getting in the feed or conversions?

When you say some pages ask for shares, do you mean that when they post a status update they are asking people to like and share it or do you mean something else?

There is a slight difference, when it shows up in the newsfeed, a post will come up with the picture of the page, with a big thumb up button to click if you haven't liked the page yet. Of course, sharing a picture helps just as well, never really examined which worked better, seeing I always have new likes coming in and would be hard to gauge.

Usually they will post on your timeline and ask to do a share. I have seen a couple pages make a post that says "If any big pages want to share, message us"

        But I don't do that.

My fans don't care to see that, so I keep it within the inbox or timeline posts.

        Hope that helps

Thanks. Sorry, I am a little confused on this part. When I look up feeds when I login the pages I see that if a page I liked shared another page it will show up on the feed and be a little indented but still have a like/share/comment option below the post also with the thumbs up button etc (but it goes to the original site and not the site that posted it). So don't they both appear in newsfeed whether it's a status update or a shared post?

Hey man so essentially what you are saying is

    Myfan page has 100 likes.

Find a facebook fan page with 200 likes.

Find the admin and get a share for share going = I figure to do this you switch back to use facebook as yourself so you can message the admin?

Message sent:''Hey I was wondering if you were interested in a share for share heres my fanpage url as we are in the same niche think we can help each other out''

The bit I think I got stuck on above is the actual sharing.

Do you just share their content on your page and they share your content on theirs or is it something else?

Yea you can do that, or just post on their timeline with your fanpage so that you don't have to switch to your real Facebook name and back.

      Either way works.

Yea I get pages all the time with a couple hundred Likes not just asking, but by phrasing and saying something like...

"Share this now and say 'Join XYZ for the best ZYX'"

      LOL

Some little page that no-one knows about comes to me and demands that I share their page, without even asking ...

What happens there is that their message immediately gets moved to spam and/or blocked.

I can congratulate the person for being bold, but that will never fly with me, as I'm sure many others can agree that there is no point in doing a S4S if you get 10 Likes out of it, and the other person gets 500+

  • Hi Friend!
I wanted to follow your advice immediately. I am relatively new to Fanpages on FB. Facebook was never being considered by me as a kind of any marketing tools... until last month
    So
I created the page. I got around 1300 genuine likes during a month. Of course I have to work hard to get that (liking other pages, leaving comments and likes) and even so at the end one of my posts was reported as a spam... because I posted ideas about Law Of Attraction on... christian page... Clean post, with some psychology etc... and got reported.
It means - next 10 days I can not leave any comment although I was doing my best to never post any spam ugh...

    Ok. To the point.
I logged to my page (posting as "page" not "me"). I can not share it with anyone but only on my wall.
I tried to log as "me" and manage the page as "me". I was not able to share it because for example - page of my friend did not appear on my list. This means- I can only share it with "people" not "pages" as I understand.

There is another way but not too helpful I guess marking page within a post like @page-so-and-so. But as far as I remember it's "mentioning" function only not sharing...

    I hope you follow me.
HOW DO YOU DO THAT PLEASE STEP BY STEP?

Of course I can make an agreement with someone like "I post once a day- you share, you post once a day and I share) but it may be a nightmare to keep any tracking if I make such an agreement with let's say 10 pages, don't you think?

So please tell us step by step how do you do that (what are you "clicking" etc).
Your post inspired me to look for solution. It is a great solution because it may build a strong business relationship for the future.
But how to do that easily and conveniently?

    Thanks so much.

I will give it a try now, and if admins are not happy with that, I will get it removed:

Update: In case some of you were thinking that this wasn't possible with a small page, well, it is.

This was a page I created a long time back and never touched it, I believe it had about 75 Likes.

Obviously you won't be getting a massive amount of Likes at once, (although you can if you play your cards right) but once again, this is the easiest way to get your page off of the ground.

And from what I have noticed, 99% of people fail when it comes to getting their page initially going.

Note: The first blip on the graph was 97 likes, and second (as shown) is 92

And yes, they are identical principles of list swapping.

However, the principle others don't seem to understand is that someone with a 50,000 list isn't going to swap with a 487 list.

    3) For the pages that don't know what the hell S4S is, talk to them, let them know how it works, and even offer to share first so that eliminates the whole idea of them not trusting you.

    4) Profit. I mean, you are monetizing your Facebook page ... right?

Would this work for a eCommerce fan page? Because if i find people in my related niche it will most likely be competitors of mine and would most likely not swap. What you think? Thanks

Yea, I'm sure you've also seen not just pages, but websites or products, where that could be a conflict, too.

I understand how you feel about that, in fact, most people might think:

"If he or she is promoting the same thing as me (or something similar)... why should I share their page?"

BUT, I see that type of thinking as, in fact, not the greatest way to go about it.

      Here's why...

Recently I came across a fitness page (similar to mine) and was even recommending similar products. Rather than skip over them, I decided to send them a message, built up rapport, and eventually asked them about sharing (regardless of the fact they were basically promoting what I was).

Now, we basically share each others page, just about every day, while both of our pages have constantly growing, and my sales are increasing.

It doesn't get any more win-win than that, but unfortunately, not many people see it this way. I see "competition" as my friend, as apposed to a villain, and the more I help them, the more they help me.

And also, you can think of this scenario as swapping when it comes to list building. Yea, this person might have the same product as me, but by helping each other out, we both benefit in the long run

Doesn't get any more win-win than that

Do you think the reason this turns out so well for the both of you is that your pages both get more likes, thereby more traction, giving you both more likes that don't just spill over from the competitors page?

Definitely, but it always depends upon your niche.

I imagine that Apple won't be doing any S4S's with Dell anytime soon

But for the most part, 99% of people I share with don't even monetize their traffic, (probably don't know how to) or even have a list to communicate to...

There really isn't much 'threat' of competition, and even if there was, it's very easy to outperform what they do on, and off their page.

Great tips! And even if you have a small number of Likes, you can easily find popular pages that accept sponsored posts for as low as 10$.

And then you can send about 1,000 people to your page in a matter of hours...still cheaper that buying Likes from Fb.

The audience isn't exactly going to respond to the post at all (in terms of Likes, comments, and shares), that's not the point of it. (unless of course you share a picture, as apposed to just a page link)

But what is going to happen, is that it is going to bring a ton of new fans to the page that you are sharing, as well as reciprocate that process so you get new fans as well.

This particular thread was what prompted me to register on this forum.
Since, this particular method of acquiring facebook likes is something I have been doing over the past 2 years, I though I will add my two cents.

This is a very brilliant way to increase facebook likes and it is very effective. you get genuine fans and exposure around the social media platform. It's not always necessary that you have to target pages with the same niche, but it's always helpful. Sometimes, similar pages to your find you as a competition, hence marking your S4S posts as spam or even reporting it.

Also bear in mind that Facebook doesn't find this method favorable as it cuts down on their advertising revenue. You stand the possibility of getting your facebook page unpublished when using the s4s method. I am a living example of this. After acquiring 300k likes and 15k likes, both pages where unpublished sighting fake likes.

None the less, I never gave up. I started afresh again with the same method, but slightly different.

Here's how I am doing it.

    1. S4S and a scheduled time:- Instead of posting the article/link/photon on the page I want to share with, I simply ask first (S4S). If they agree to share, I go back to their page and delete my post form their wall. They share my page and I share theirs. with no track of an agreement.

    2. I contact the pages via facebook message, with my intentions and we agree to share contents.

    3. I join groups that are specifically for sharing pages and share either my page, post, article or status message with other members. who ever is interested picks it up and share. This method is fantastic as there is no discrimination when it comes to the size of your page. Some page owners just love your idea and are willing to share your 100 likes page with their 100k fans.

    Choosing a Niche

Who said you have to be within the same niche of the other page? Duh! I never follow that rule. Nah! Nah! Nah! Who are the people that have plenty of facebook fans? Fashion, Funny memes, Dating etc. Who said your fans are not interested in that? Every one has to dress up, eat and laugh once in a while. In fact sharing funny pictures but sensible pictures on you SEO or Real estate page or sharing a trendy dress, Food recipe on your Weight loss page might get your fans going.

Make alliance with bigger pages that are of the light sided parts. Even if you have 5 likes you can still get a page with 100k likes to share you. it all depends on how you put your case. Yes, some might reject you, but out of 10, 2 or 4 will take you on.

Lastly, try not to leave an open trace that facebook can track.

Methods of sharing that you must go for

    1. Share your whole page:- this might bring your a couple of fans, but not too much.

    2. Share an engaging picture or post:- This one is the most effective method that can give you 100 likes in couple of hours. The previous method can be because the other admin ask people to like your page. But this method actually sells what you are about and you get fans that can convert to sales.

    3. Post on other pages walls (not S4s): You can always visit pages, let them know how much you like their page and that you've bookmarked them, inviting them to come over and check you out. This is a shameful marketing method I use when I want likes without asking for it. A girl has to pay the bills and facebook is not going to bother with this particular post. I didn't ask for sharing, I just boosted the moral of a page owner

Now, when you are posting in another page's wall, ensure you post as a page not as YOU! the 20 minutes your page is up their can attract fans, even if you are going to delete it in the end. Sometimes, even before the other page response to my request, I get 2-5 likes on my page from my simple s4s request.

Well, that's all for now. Just be bold and get out there! But please be careful you don't get unpublished by facebook. Do S4s wisely.

I think the best way to benefit from S4S, is to first build a solid page (at least 1000 Likes) via Ads. With well optimized ads, you can really do that for not more than 10$.

After that you will be more likely to get pages interested in S4S

Search for pages that are very similar to yours, and send the admin a message.

Many times, you might have to introduce them to the entire idea of S4S...

Really emphasizing on the "what's in it for me?" for them, which is helping them build their audience / make money / world domination

Very welcome Gogete, but please before you go on, you don't necessarily have to stop running your ads.

I recommend you keep running them if:

      1) Your page is new (let's just say 10K and under)
      2) You are getting cheap Likes (.05 and under)
      3) If you want to maximize the amount of money you make <== Important

The amazing thing with ads is that once you do get, let's say .10 cents a Like, which is pretty easy, why stop them when you are averaging, let's say .20 EPC on an offer you are promoting?

Yes, this slices the amount of money you are making in half, but you also get to put your money making efforts on steroids and grow your page even faster.

I made this mistake with the first page I ever made back in December 2012. Built it never spending one red cent, and I was soooooooo proud of it. But little did I realize that by not investing in it, I missed out on a lot more income in the long run.

That is my .02 in the situation. I don't know if your main goal is to make money from your page, but you are on WF so my hunch is that it is. And if that isn't the case, you can use those 2 cents for a couple Likes on FB

You really got a very good strategy. Posting or sharing your niche to pages that are same as yours would surely be a combo step. For sure, you will be getting people/subscribers that are REALLY interested with your niche. I just want to add another step. You can also make use of promos in Facebook. You can create a game to encourage people to like your Facebook Fan Page.

    • Link Personal Profile to your Page

      Fan page definitely.

Just think of how many people can see a shared post on a fan page compared to just a regular page (unless they have 1000's of followers).

Thanks for the great technique! I just contacted a bunch of potentials.

I noticed my page's "Talking about this" number is much higher than some of the other pages that have 4 or 5 times my likes. (http://facebook.com/Glutenfreeworks - 27,600 likes, 17,569 talking about this.)

I used the "Talking about this" number in my messages as a negotiation point to try to get the bigger guys to S4S. I'll let you know how it goes.

Awesome, awesome, awesome work there jml777

I already knew after seeing the talking about number that you were doing well with this page.

Extremely targeted = an extravagant amount of social activity going on.

      Rock on!

And yea, you can definitely use the talking about number to let bigger pages know that your fans are active and essentially loyal.

Well, darn it. I contacted about 10 and received no response from any of them. Buggers. I'll give it another shot, but I think my niche might be a suspicious lot. That, or I seem like a spammer when I message them. Lol!

The good news is I'm up to 33,860 likes and 25,400 talking about this. I'll take 6,000+ likes and 8,000+ more talking about this in 12 days...

With that, you either have to post on their timeline, or send them an inbox using your personal account, letting them know your page and what you would like to do.

Hey Debbie, yea I personally message the page myself.

The link will be deleted after an hour, I have been sharing with the same pages for so long that most of them already know to remove after an hour.

If not, just let the page know you will be doing that before sharing, or you can simply keep it up, no big deal.

As long as you and the page can come to a mutual agreement, then that's all that matters.

Thanks for the positive feedback adystanley

However, it is a necessity that I address the second part that you wrote.

Facebook ads are absolutely amazing, and I highly recommend anyone and everyone to use them, especially when a page is at square one (just created it).

The reason why is because you can build you page at lightning speed, all while doing share for shares.

Back when I first created my huge page (exactly a year ago), I never used any ads what so ever (or even this share method).

So yes, I created a huge money-making page without spending a dime, but all of the months and months of wasted time was actually the worst part about it.

Spend some money implementing FB ads to grow your page; that is good a thing, you can always get your money back (and then some).

That's called being in the process of developing those skills you say you wish you had.

Here's how I see it, if one human has done something that literally means 'that' something can be done by anyone. Anyone who puts in the time and energy required to duplicate whatever steps were taken.

I'm not picking on you. I promise. I just saw your statement and felt like you and perhaps others might benefit from being reminded that any skills any of us have in this world have been developed. As in learned. For most of us that means trying and having "it" NOT work a few times.

          Just saying...

I tried joining a few S4S groups, but they are terribly cluttered with a lot of crappy pages. Don't have the patience for this, plus I hate switching between my real and fake Facebook accounts (I manage the pages with a real account but promote from my fake accounts).

Also keeping track of what you've posted and where, and then remembering to come back to delete it requires at least an Excel file or something. There is no way to remember by heart if you're spamming dozens of groups all evening long.

I think it's a lot more fun just to post good content and crunch your visitor analytics once in a while to make sure you are posting at the right time of the day, etc.

Long story short, I have a Diablo 3 fan page with 3,500 likes. Happy to exchange shares with someone who is also in the thousands. Especially gaming niche or anything that can bring both you and me new likes.

Facebook pages are basically not worth the work any longer. This is because (and facebook has finanlly admitted it) your fans only see about 1% of page post due to congestion of data/post. However, facebook will get you higher than 1% if you pay for it. So basically you need to pay for your 'likes' and now you will need to pay for your post to be seen by your fans. Its double layered revenue stream by facebook. This will benefit the larger companies and further squeeze the small business or individual pages. Pinterest is now far better option.

OP...Have you noticed any drop on your organic reach now that facebook implemented recent changes?

I think building a huge fanpage following either using paid or free methods is now a waist of time to only have to pay again to reach the same people you worked so hard to accumulate. Thoughts?

How to find out who is asking for shares?
A lot of pages will sometimes ask other pages if they want to S4S on their wall.

Or just look for pages that are sharing other pages.

Every time I share a page, I get a ton of new requests from people to share.

      You're welcome.

Health and fitness is one of the easiest niches to share with.

Shouldn't take too long to find someone.

Yea a lot of those "free" likes just add a bigger number to your fan page.

They usually don't join in on the fun, or even buy anything

Nice share james. that help me alot.

If I got up to a person and ask them to share, I will usually go first so they don't have to worry about me not following through.

There have been times where the other person hasn't shared back. No big deal. Just put their message in the spam box and move on

That's what I like to hear!

You are going to get a bunch of people ignoring you, that's just how it is. But on the other hand, when you keep asking you are also bound to get a lot of people sharing with you.

And over time, it just becomes natural and you can literally do it everyday.

    Hi,

are most niches on facebook worth $1 in a list or lower?
Example; to build a list with more than 2000 subscribers I most spend more than $100 each month over 6-8 months....?

what are best niches on fb?
Like hobby niches, cosmetic, or expensive niches like home decor....to build a list that is worth $1? and has cheap fb ads?

A simple search will do, from there, you can just browse pages, and if you want to dig deeper, the pages that you look at, look at the pages they like (they are also usually similar).

I never thought something that simply could bring such results. If scaled properly, you can build a 100k+ page in literally no time!
