There doesn't seem to be a lot of youtube suggestions. Maybe not as many people count it as social media? I say it does. Remember it is #2 search engine. In addition to all the regulars like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc., having a strong youtube presence is important too.

If you want to get urgent traffic then Facebook and Twitter is the best... but if you have some passion then G+ is Superb!!! G+ gives you 100% more reliable traffic rather then Facebook or Twitter else.

It really all depends. If your product or service can benefit a lot from visual elements like photos, you could use something like Pinterest or Flickr. Then again, Facebook is still the biggest option out there with the most usage and Twitter is pretty close as well. Even though Yahoo! just bought it, Tumblr is very popular and easy to promte and you can build yourself a lot of quick and easy backlinks with it. I'm not a huge fan of Google+ at this point but that could change.

Facebook is difficult in earlier stage. But once you have established your page / account, it gives you definite boost.

For my SAAS company, I use LinkedIn as my primary social networking service. I run paid ads and ask for leads.

Tough to pick a winner as they need to all be used in one form or another, however, I have had most traffic come from Pinterest. I think people need to see it to click on it.

Facebook is the best, but I also like Twitter. There is an awesome new social network coming soon called Cube 7. It has launched already, but not to the public so Google Cube7 and check it out for yourselves.

It all depends on what your blog is about.

If your blog target women then Pinterest is the place to be. You should also target Facebook groups in your niche and Google+ communities in your niche.

However if you are in the IM or make money niche social media marketing is far less effective. The reason for this is because all the internet marketers are usually just posting their ads and know one is really reading other people's stuff.

But outside of the IM niche you can find groups in Facebook and Google+ where the community is very active. As long as you don't spam the groups you join you can get some very targeted traffic.

YouTube I use only for watching videos.

I few years ago I was making lots of sales using twitter using tweetadder etc. Had 60,000 followers on my main account. But Twitter then started targeting anyone using software they suspended all my accounts. I think Twitter is fine but if you want to use it to build a serious business income.. Then you are gambling on what mood the twitter employees are in on that day..

So personally I would say have a Twitter account but don't waste too much time or energy on it. Plus now with no automation tools hardly working makes it even more of a pain in the butt...

I would have to say that Facebook is the best for blog posts as it combines lots of people and lots of people that can be interested in your blog posts.

yes I agree with Marcus...my you tube channel sends me a lot of traffic.Next one has got to be facebook. It does tend to come off a little saturated depending on what niche you are marketing to....but i heard a surprising statistic on Google + that only 20% of people who actually have a google + account are actually active on it. i'm still getting warmed up to it. but i'm sure that can also be a good thing for quality traffic!

I like some of the previous replies. From my experience, it depends on your site/content. I've found different social networks useful for different projects. For example, some of the best results for news projects have come from Reddit whereas an enterprise project had best results from LinkedIn.

As always, testing and measuring can help you get results.

It depends what your blog is about. I personally use LinkedIn a lot because you can individually email people within groups. Although it can be time-consuming, you can get targeted people reading your blog.
