Advertise Facebook page with another Facebook page

Hey guys,

I own a Facebook page with 159k fans. It's about a general topic. However, I am trying to establish a new not so general Facebook page (a brand). I planned to share pics and posts of the brand page on my 159k page, dragging fans from the big guy to the brand page. But it seems that the reach of shared posts is way less than if you upload pics directly. How come?

While I get around 1-2k likes per regular image upload on my 159k, I only got like 20 likes for the shared picture and hardly any fans on my brand page.

So that method doesn't really work, I guess. And suggestions on how to take advantage of the big ass page for my new brand page? I am clueless right now

    I haven't compared the reach of sharing versus direct posting of pictures but can you create a meme or post a picture on the big fan site and then both in the comment below mention the new site and put in the link as something you recommend. Plus you can also put a description of the new site in the description part of the image that you post so people can see that at the top.

    Of course you may also be getting less likes with the share not only due the reach aspect but because the picture/message is less on theme than your usual posts.

      Hi,

      thanks. The reach is way way less and it seems that less of my fans get to see the shared ones.

      It's weird because I was actually sharing a picture which I would usually upload on my big page. It's not really in any niche, just general and not a product or something.

      But I will try to put it in the description and comment
