That is by far the strongest way to get influentials in your market to actually market your page for you! I love that method, and it works on Google+ as well if you haven't tried it on there yet. I've been using this strategy a lot to get people into my circles a lot quicker!

this follows what we have found in building our business over past 14 months....locate your power brokers. They can do more in single day than what can be done by others over month and months. Spend 90% of your time on power brokers (keep adding more) and spend only 10% on fringe/small players.

It's best through direct message but sometimes when bigger accounts do not follow back, I have tried it through tweeting, it does not work as good.

In my best ever week, I got over 700 followers. I now have around 6,400 followers all together. If you are getting 200 a day that is double what I did in my best ever week. Your strategy would be worth at least trying, so I will give it a shot. Thanks for posting such a valuable thread.

What exactly do you tweet about? Do you have a niche? I basically tweet about small business, internet marketing and British politics. If any of these fit in with your niche, I would be happy to do a 3-3 with you.

Well, honestly, at first I believed Facebook was more effective but now that I'm constantly growing my Twitter account with little effort I have to say Twitter is a lot more effective.

People on Twitter are a lot more active and responsive. Twitter is so effective that I'm planning on using it to grow my Facebook.

I get about 1000 followers every two weeks but i work constantly using tweet adder. They are all organic followers but it'd be nice not to spend so much time using the program and just letting twitter work for us. May I ask what is your message to these other affiliates? What do you say exactly?

Sounds good! Its all about how you build the relation with your knowledge. Asking for re-tweet is good somehow in a well manner. Sometimes its reflect negatively if your approach is only for promotional.

I completely agree. It's something I've learned with applying this method. Most of the time accounts dont care because they want to grow as well so its a win win but with bigger accounts it's a good idea to show some interest and try to build a relationship.

Well it really depends on your niche and your knowledge on that niche.

For example I like to scroll down their twitter feed and see if they tweet and reply to some of their tweets giving my opinion or some more info on what they were saying.

Showing some interest like this can go a long way. About half of the time other accounts message me first so I dont really need to say anything but when I message them I usually say something like: "Hey I was wondering if you do retweets with other accounts" or "Thanks for the follow back. Retweets?".

It's really up to you but once they follow you back then you should be pretty set.

In your niche you should know your big competitors when you do a search in Google, just follow them and message them.

Well an easy way to find this is simply go to your profile, usually at the bottom it will show accounts similar to yours. Just look through that and you'll find some accounts with a decent amount of followers to start you off.

Usually when you find decent accounts if you check out their tweets you'll see they've retweeted other similar accounts and so fourth.

You can also check out the profiles of people who follow you to see if they retweet or follow accounts in your niche.

It's fairly simple and i think the benefit of doing it manually is you get to interact with other accounts and build relationships that will help you in the long run.

You can find accounts with a couple hundred followers instead of thousands. If you're lucky you can get a big account to retweet you.

I'm getting pretty big in my niche that a bunch of small new accounts ask for retweets. Most if these accounts have like 80 followers at most.

  When I first tried Twitter I followed a bunch of random people as well, I think within a week I followed about 200-300 people and Twitter suspended my account. I forgot how I got it back.
  
  Anyways try not to follow actual people, in fact what I did was I immediately unfollowed every account that was not related to my niche. Right now I am following about 100 accounts

That's an interesting strategy. I've noticed that whenever you converse with a "big" account you get some followers, but I'd never thought about actually asking outright for a RT trade. I'm surprised you got so many positive responses, actually. I guess people must be more approachable in the sports niche?

My niche is like a mix of sports and health and fitness.

Two weeks ago I was at 4000 followers, right now, as I type this I am at exactly 6,266 followers.

Anyways here's what I did.

I followed about 20 accounts that were related to my niche. All of these accounts had at least 8000+ followers. All of their tweets were getting hundreds of retweets and favorites. Which shows their followers are real and active

Now, of course, just following them was not going to do anything. The key is to grab their attention and find a way to make them follow you back.

I usually do this by responding to a couple of their tweets and/or favorite a bunch of their tweets THEN following them.

If this fails, I would also just tweet them asking for a follow back.

In the end I probably got 15 out of the 20 of these bigger accounts to follow me.

Once they followed me I sent them a message asking for retweets. Usually it's 3-3, which means each of you retweet 3 of each others tweets but some bigger accounts will ask for 3-1. If this is the case, just go for it, trust me it's worth it.

Everyday I do retweets with these bigger accounts and I get tons of followers. Right now I'm looking at 200+ followers a day, which, by the way, will continue to increase.

Also, I built a good relationship with 3 accounts that have 100k+ followers. We started off with 3-1 but yesterday they all agreed to do 3-3.

LITERALLY, the second they finish retweeting my three tweets, my notifications blow up. Countless people retweet, favorite and follow me.

This is an easy method to take advantage off. I have twitter, FB, and Pinterest apps on my phone so throughout the day I will handle my business without any hassle.

Really? That's crazy.

A good tip is try to get a conversation going with them, reply to their tweets. Show them that you're not trying to spam them but instead do some business through RT's.

Showing some interest can go a long way.

Great topic to discuss, If you try some tools or a bot for getting 200+ followers a day you can get them easily. There are a couple of free bots on here which will get you between 400-1000 followers but they are not real human, so don't bother pushing your sales to them. Try natural search bar for find them. If you need manually you must need to follow people though. Thanks, Have a nice day !

Excellent ideas. My only worry is how long this takes. As this is only for Twitter and would I require time for Facebook, Pinterest, Google plus, You Tube etc?

Lastly how does this help with commissions? do they end up on your site and buy anything giving you commissions?

It's actually not really time consuming at all, it's fairly simple to do and you can get it done within 15 mins of your free time, more if you really want to get followers.

Since I interact with my followers, I'm on twitter all day so doing RT's isn't much of a hassle.

I get very good traffic from Twitter to my blog ever since started using this method. However, I do not send the traffic to pages with affiliate links but instead to other sections of my site. I want to make sure I have a very big following base before I start tweeting links to my offers and affiliate links.

I do make money but not much because I don't always promote anything, through twitter. I make money through FB and Pinterest. I'm taking a different approach with twitter.

With other social media sites when I started promoting my website, offers etc. I had a lot of trouble because my fan base wasnt big enough or active enough. With FB i had 6k but when I started promoting stuff it was like those posts were invisble.

I already have a very active following base on twitter who I interact with because I am a health and fitness coach so I actually help my followers but I want to grow it as much as possible before I start making more money.

Seems solid, but is also a bit niche dependent, I would guess. In more competitive niches I feel like people see right through this, particularly if we are talking an account with say - 150 followers instead of 4,000.

Great tips! I run a comic con blog and have the best luck tweeting around lunchtime and obviously during comic conventions. I went from under 3K to almost 4,400 in a few weeks

Will def try getting some of the bigger people in my niche to rewteet!

Good info! I will be starting a twitter page for my unique health & fitness info product and this is a good approach. I have set up twitter pages in the past in a different niche and they can build followers pretty fast - great way to engage those with common interests.

I just add people manually and post status related to my niche. I post something that'll get people's attention and they automatically comment, like and became very active. Once this happens I have them like my page

You can do this is 15 mins, 30 mins or however long you want.

Personally I just do it on my free time or whenever I check my twitter or FB i go right ahead and find more accounts I can do business with.

Just targeting influencers in your niche is pretty basic. I've had some pretty good success paying these influencers to market my products (usually shirts on a direct print site like skreened.com). Usually you can get a couple tweets, RTs and pins on pinterest for $15-30. Not bad when they have like 80K targeted followers.

Well personally I chose Health and Fitness because it's something I am passionate about.

You can just search twitter for "health and fitness" then you will find a lot of accounts to get in contact with.

It'll depend on your niche.

Anyways here's what I did.

I followed about 20 accounts that were related to my niche. All of these accounts had at least 8000+ followers. All of their tweets were getting hundreds of retweets and favorites. Which shows their followers are real and active

Now, of course, just following them was not going to do anything. The key is to grab their attention and find a way to make them follow you back.

I usually do this by responding to a couple of their tweets and/or favorite a bunch of their tweets THEN following them.

If this fails, I would also just tweet them asking for a follow back.

In the end I probably got 15 out of the 20 of these bigger accounts to follow me.

Once they followed me I sent them a message asking for retweets. Usually it's 3-3, which means each of you retweet 3 of each others tweets but some bigger accounts will ask for 3-1. If this is the case, just go for it, trust me it's worth it.

Everyday I do retweets with these bigger accounts and I get tons of followers. Right now I'm looking at 200+ followers a day, which, by the way, will continue to increase.

Also, I built a good relationship with 3 accounts that have 100k+ followers. We started off with 3-1 but yesterday they all agreed to do 3-3.

LITERALLY, the second they finish retweeting my three tweets, my notifications blow up. Countless people retweet, favorite and follow me.

This is an easy method to take advantage off. I have twitter, FB, and Pinterest apps on my phone so throughout the day I will handle my business without any hassle.

This is the best method to gain more followers on any social network websites. You get to drive more traffic to your page and have this visitors stay for a while. The big plus here is that you don't have to spend dollars just to gain more followers. All you need is effort and the rest of your time.

Nice tips. Your main concentration for gaining credits to get followers will be the Twitter and Facebook tabs. Start by clicking Twitter on twiends. I used the similar way to increase my twitter followers but I didn't favorite their posts or retweet their posts before following them. I send every ppl that I will follow a message before following them. Usually, If I send message to 20 people, and then nearly 11-12 people will follow me back. However, my target users are not always use their twitter account, so even if I'd rather pay more attention to how to increase my facebook followers........

If you search a popular keyword in your niche you should find big accounts. For example, my niche is fitness so all I did was search "muscle building" or "body building" and a bunch of accounts popped up.
