Why can't I post on another's fan page's timeline from my fan page?

I was wondering the following:

I have a fan page and i have seen where you can write a post on your fan page's wall, tag another business/fan page using the "@fanpagename" parameter and that will create a link on your fan page wall but also on their wall in the "recent posts by other users" section. I can't get this to work. My posts never show on the other fan page. Only when I tag the page from my personal profile's page, they do. How come?

My admin has given me rights as a content creator so i can post as the page and stuff.

Please advise!

You should not do that anyway. Spamming someone elses timeline and tagging a different page is only going to get your comment deleted and possibly you banned.

Please don't assume I would do such an asinine thing. I am not a spammer. I genuinely wanted to mention that page and you can do that on your own Fan page using a @tag and that creates two links one on your timeline and one on theirs.

I have seen videos of it done.

At the top, right side of your Facebook page, hover over the icon furthest to the right. At the very top of the dropdown it says "Use Facebook as" and you'll see all of the pages you admin listed there. Choose the one you want to use, and you can post on other pages AS your page while you're using this setting.

Sorry. I think I misunderstood what you were asking, at first. Is your fan page actually "following" the other fan page? You may need to make sure that's set, first.

Hi there, I am not following the other fan page, but I liked it browsing Facebook as my own Fan page. Still nothing. I can add a post and tag another fan page on my personal account and it shows up, but nothing shows up when I post using my Fan page. Now I thought it was because of admin privileges as I am a content creator, but a content creator can still post as a page. I am lost. I have seen other fan pages post to other fan pages on their own timeline using @tags and Fb creates links on both timelines, the main timeline for the original posting fan page and on the "recent posts by other users" on the receiving fan page.

    Please help!

I don't think you can do that, you can comment on their wall posts but can't send message or write on their timeline as a page.

You can absolutely write on your fan page wall, tag using the @symbol another fan page you liked and it will show up on your wall and also on theirs

It is known as spamming, the page owner can remove your spammy comments and report to the FB, plus your comments will be banned for this.
