Facebook page vs Google+ page: which is better?

Those of you who used both Facebook fan page and Google+ business page for marketing, please share your experience and compare them. Which option is more beneficial and why? What's your ultimate choice between them? Thanks.

Hi. I prefer facebook because more people actually use it and I have actually booked business from people who saw my facebook profile before even seeing my business website. I certainly use Google+ as well though because if you want to get ranked higher in google searches, you will need to use what google offers. Any form of social media is going to help your search rankings as long as you update it often, keep the content fresh and get "likes" "follows" etc. So although I do use a lot of social media, I tend to update my facebook page the most because that's what more people are seeing.

Facebook fan pages are better, and if done correctly you can also rank organically in search engines.

Facebook personal profile links and posts to your fanpage (but not in a spammy way) and your G+ profile has a backlink to the fanpage.

Facebook is best now a days. If you want traffic and popularity, then Facebook always be best. As Google Plus is Google's own social media site..you should use it for better result on Google search..

Diversification is an important key to surviving on the internet in my opinion. To me a Plus or a Like have pretty much an equal value.

Best to put your eggs in as many baskets as possible.

    Hey Max,

I think we need to be in both places... Facebook has the numbers. Google dominates search and might give us credit for Google+ somehow...

    All the best,
    Garth

These two responses explains it all. You shouldn't just focus on something which is best for one thing. Something of everything is always better.

Certainly Face Book because it is still bigger than Google +.
Google+ is trying its best to get more and more people on board but so far, Face Book is on the top.
You always go with the top an biggest brand, it is that simple.

Out of the 7300 visitors I've gotten every day this month to one of my sites, with 95% coming from social media, 9 came from Google Plus ALL MONTH.

Not 90, not 900, not 9000, not 90000, NINE lol

That should tell you all you need to know.

Google + is very similar to Facebook in the sense that all members have their own unique network .

    Google : Facebook :

Date Launched - Jan 2011 Date Launched - Feb 2004
Register User - 170 Million Register User - 900 Million
Active User - 100 Million Active User - 500 Million

but for google keyword rank recommended to go for Google +

I use Facebook, Twitter, Google +, Pintrest, and more. Facebook is far better than Google Plus in my opinion.
With Facebook there are more people on it in general. You can create dialogue, people can share your posts, there are just more ways to get "out there."
On Facebook you can use hashtags now just like on Twitter. So, when you use these people who are not fans of your page will still see what you posted if they search that hashtag.
Facebook is much more user friendly.

It's always a good idea to use different methods for different strategies.
Facebook for exposure and likes and building a large fan base.
If you have a website or have published a book then your Google+ business page can be very helpful in establishing you as an authority. The business page has a back link to your personal profile. Google views you as a published author, which gives you authority, this makes you rank in the SERP's. You can enhance this effect by hosting regular Google+ hangouts from your Google+ business page.

Facebook pages rank very well on Bing and for some low competition keywords I see that FB page ranks well on Google too. G+ doesn't have these results.

It depends on the niche that you are using. For updates, its better to use Facebook because there's a lot who can view it. But for reviews, its better to use Google+.

Both are good. i am using G+. After Facebook started unpublishing pages you can't say when your page will be unpublished. So it is better to move on G+. Moreover I have also found that G+ users are more active than Facebook users and they can bring more traffic.

Has anybody mentioned the fact that Google+ is indexable on search engines? I also think it is better to get into a social media platform in the early stages, and build up a good following, before everybody else does. And what about hangouts? They are extremely versatile, you can have far more people on them than skype for example, and can also be published to youtube!

Google+ has little audience who engage. I mainly have a presence there just for the SEO benefits and nothing else. Also automation is a little harder in Google+. Facebook has no SEO benefits but the Social aspect is just tremendous.
