Hey WF!

I'm trying to submit an new campaign on FB. After I complete all the fields - nothing's happening when I click on Place Order. This is really annoying.

Help!

  • Smodha,

That is annoying isn’t it. Try using a different browser. I know sometimes Facebook’s interface has issues in some browsers like IE. Try clearing your cache before you go back in there.

    Hope that helps,

Thanks Shawn. I've been trying all day. The Ads just won't submit. Doesn't matter if I press Place Order or Review Ad.

Have you tried using the Power Editor through Chrome?

It also gives you more control and options for setting up your ads.

Familiar problem. Another one that constantly breaks is the field where you put the URL when choosing External URL etc. I use mostly Power Editor and some internal automation to deal with submitting ads. Power Editor has been recently failing always with one ad in the upload batch. There's always one ad that fails and you have to upload yet again to get it there also.

Hi Smodha, Have you tried using a different computer? You may be having compatibility issues with some software on your computer (not hardware related). Let me know how it goes.

    Kind Regards,

    What's up Smodha,
This is an all too common issue actuallly. It happened to me for like two hours once and then fixed itself. I would recommend waiting a bit and then trying it again or using a different computer.

Hope this helps and good luck!!

Facebooks interface is a little buggy. Sometimes when it starts getting all wacko I get frustrated. But then I think to myself .. they have a billion users and over one hundred and fifty thousand severs to maintain. The fact that it ever works at all is a feat of computer engineering.

Try it tomorrow or later .. and dont use IE thats the worst browser ever.

Maybe your browser isn't set to accept javascript. Be sure to check your Tools options and make adjustments as needed.

UPDATE - found a fix courtesy of Glen @ Viperchill:

I have had an issue now since day two where the place order button in Facebook just doesn't work for me. It’s even more frustrating when you’re creating a new ad, set your criteria, then click the button and nothing happens. Meaning, you have to do it all over again. A Google search shows I’m not alone, and a friend messaged me about the same problem as well.

The solution is fairly simple. Create an ad with the URL you wish to promote – don’t select any demographic criteria at all – and then click Place Order. Then go back and Edit the ad, and you shouldn't have any issues changing all your criteria and clicking Save. I can’t believe a billion dollar company could have issues like this – especially when it comes to the main system which makes them money – but I just can’t get past this no matter what browser I use.

Hopefully this solves some frustrations for those of you who try the platform.
    It's a known problem at FB's end.

    Thanks Glen!
