I have been following a method from Mark Thompson.

Now, i am not complaining here. I just want some advice.

So far, i have over 500 likes on my fan page on FB. And i have been making posts every 4 hours, because insights are not showing when people are online to see my posts, for some unknown reason, but showing everything else.

I have been posting infographics and asking questions to get people engaging on the page. Even added a competition, but only getting 0.5% liking the posts, or lower, if at all. And it is a weight loss general page, which is probably where i might be going wrong, who knows. I have added recipes, weight loss tips and motivation tips. And getting nothing really from engagement POV.

Am i doing something wrong? And also, 500 likes in just over a week, is that bad? Because been reading places people get that in a day.

  • I cannot think of anything more annoying than a FB page that I just 'liked' that is posting every 4 hours.

I'd instantly ignore future posts from them.

Tha'd probably be part of your problem.

The problem he's having is that he doesn't have nearly enough fans. When you get to 5,000 and your engagement is what it is now at 500, THEN you have a problem.

The pages I run get posted to every 2 or 3 hours.

The people who like those pages LOVE my pages.

      They never complain about that.

They are thankful, and best of all are sharing and liking machines.

Facebook users are like sheep. You have to condition them.

They'll either get used to it and accept it, or they will not come back.

Who cares if they leave. If you're building your page up right, they will be replaced pretty much instantly.

Do not post only 1x per day. They'll forget you even existed and will frequent the pages that post more.

This is based on my personal experience of course, and Auctiondebteliminator is entitled to his feelings. However he is in the minority.

It really all depends on the topic of your page too.

As long as you are compelling, it doesn't matter how often you post. You can post a lot or you can post once a month. The people who don't like the frequency will simply unlike the page. who cares, sell to the rest of the people in your fanbase who are your fans. Remember, Likes don't equate to hard subscribers or sales. Your next step is to determine a better process for moving your fans into your sales funnel where the money is made. Understanding that will also make it easier to acquire more fans since your efforts will be focused.

If I may ask, but why?

People are liking groups because they like specific niches. They are there because they are expecting to receive interesting content from the group right to their walls and to connect with other people in the group via comments. I don't think 6 posts per day are too much if the content is interesting, fun, shareable and motivating.

If a facebook page is posting every 4 hours and it's annoying you, the problem isn't the page....it's you. Posting every 4-6 hours is recommended for average facebook pages.

Study your niche and think about what will entice and MAKE your demographic WANT to engage into your content. Weight loss....you need call-to-action. You want to make your users interested. Post up an image of a muscular guy using some unique equipment and post as a status "What kind of equipment would you use to loose weight?" Something extraordinary, compelling, and interesting. 500 likes per week is average. Weight loss is a niche that isn't trending much. You should partner up with some pages that relate to yours...eg: gym addicts, weight loss machine, fitness guru, etc. Share your facebook page on reddit, 9gag, and any other social network hubs.

The topics you are covering are very common in Facebook. Your posts might be similar to God knows how many pages have posted as well. You should figure out how to make your posts stand out and more attractive and interesting.

500likes/day is not bad at all, it's good actually. do some image post with related quotes 403x403px(so it doesn't re-size) when I first started I create mine originally, if your posting 4times a day(for me this over-kill) make sure to follow a time-frame like 1st post(8am-10am) 2nd(2-3pm) 3rd(7-8) 4th(12am-2am this is when my fans are alive) be sure to synchronize your PC time setting to your target country and do some research when is the best time to post(this are my US fans time frame for my niche). do some sponsored post use image post and a question ,example "do I look fat?" with pic of a sexy girl(you get it.).

oh and for now let your fans post in your page, as of now I only post once day, I just share my fans post and like it , they love me when I do that , let them build you page for now. the engagement and "talking about" is higher than my page likes for 2weeks straight well depending on the audience and your niche as of now it's still high even though I stop posting(getting ready to monetize)..

Hello, Facebook does offer a feature that you can use to advertise, its a little $ but it will get you likes almost for certain. Also a good page with good contents and good use of its features keep you making fans rapidly. Some steps have to remember always,

    • Networking with other pages admin
    • Creating a resource.
    • Creating contents that include participation
    • Empowering pre-existing pages.
    • Targeting a good number of fans per week.

Also you can take steps as your own to promote your pages. Hope this will be helpful for you
    Have a nice day !
