Facebook! Facebook! Facebook! But who's actually using it?

So there are probably what 3 trillion products out there on using Facebook, right?

All the ones I'm seeing are for...

1. Apps that you can put on your Facebook page
2. How to's on marketing on Facebook
3. Using the Facebook advertising system

I want to see REAL promotions...

Who is doing promotions on Facebook like list building, contests, ect...

No one is showing this stuff... If so I have totally missed it and would love to see REAL people who are actually using it!

So who wants to talk about their Facebook promotions?

    Hi Liz,

I used Facebook to promote my opportunities and i've found it hard to attract people to them, but i've only been in IM few months so learning all the time ! Once i've connected to people they just try and sell me something and not interested in what i can help them with.

I was thinking about doing a question contest on my Niche giving away some e-books and reports , then trying to build a list .

WHO are you connecting with? It sounds like you're connecting with other people pitching biz opps. If that's your market, fine. Expect to get pitched. But you have to lead with value and show them how you can help them.

This is going about it a bit backwards. You use contests and reports to build the list. In other words, they have to opt in to enter the contest or to get the report. Voila! You've got a list!

Create an opt-in page for the contest and another one for each report or group of reports.

Building your list should ALWAYS be your first priority and the first "payment" that you require.

      Hope that helps!

I use Facebook time to time for get some optins time to time. But not a heavy user. Conversions rate is less but it's cold traffic which can be put in sales funnel.

    Liz,

There are lots of people teaching Facebook marketing. I can personally recommend acouple that I've used:

    1. Michelle Pescosolido's Facebook course "Social Media Mastery" at Get FansGetPaid.com Social Media Mastery

She's made over 6 figures with Facebook marketing and she is someone to follow. She's very authentic and professional in what she does.

    2. Ben Adkins' "Evil Facebook Ads" at FBAdMag.com Evil Facebook Magician - FB Ads Magic

This is his Facebook ads tutorial. He also has a guide on building your list from Facebook: "Evil Facebook Magician: Listbuilding Unleashed" at Evil Facebook Magician - List Building Unleashed

Personally, I chose to build a Facebook audience to a minimal level of 1,000 "likes" before I started building my list from FB.

Using Ben's info, I was able to get 1,000 likes for $.09-$.13/like and quickly built my audience to over 1,000 in just 3 weeks. (Some do it much faster.) I was VERY happy.

Now, I'm getting ready to start using some of his listbuilding techniques.

He puts his customers in private Facebook groups and gives us lots of help there.

    I HIGHLY recommend his stuff!

A tip: Don't get too caught up in just building a Facebook audience. As long as they're on Facebook and not on YOUR list, they're still Facebook's asset, not yours. Facebook can shut you down at any time for any reason and if you haven't been building a list, all of your time and money is wasted.

But if you've been building a list, you've got a permanent asset that belongs to you and no one can take it away.

You can also check out Amy Porterfield for Facebook marketing help. She's well-known and respected in this market, but I haven't used her stuff personally, so I have no personal recommendation for her.

Ben and Michelle actually teach others how to make money from social media and I HIGHLY recommend their stuff!

People actually reading my blog post and getting targeted traffic Google plus
Posting funny pics of football players and jokes Facebook all they way.

To me people on Facebook wants to be entertained. I have no problem with that. But IMO how about you give Google Plus a shot.

And, I've been saying this for over a year. Facebook fans want fun free stuff. They're not really in the mood for spending. But with Google+ you can have a serious, intellectual conversation with interested persons about anything from SEO to life insurance. And, they're not expecting you to hit them with a funny meme. On Google+, the readers want to find out more about a subject. But the posts/pages you put up have to be info rich, not just thinly veiled ads or flimsy posts packed with affiliate/site links that are being used as a link dump for some site's SEO. Google+ is the place to get involved with your online community and inform rather than entertain them.

I have real actual proof in tens of thousands of dollars in commissions earned that people on Facebook LOVE to buy.

You may be right about Google+ but the traffic is severely lacking from Google+ as compared to Facebook.

I'm speaking from experience and hundreds of thousands of unique visitors worth of data.

Hey Michelle... Thanks a ton... I appreciate all that info.

I'm looking for people who don't create products on this topic who are using Facebook, and want to know what they are successfully doing.

    For instance like yourself...

Personally, I chose to build a Facebook audience to a minimal level of 1,000 "likes" before I started building my list from FB.

    You're saying what you're doing...

Most of the Facebook products I have see are all theory. They're not showing their "campaigns"...

I'd like to see campaign examples...

    Like...

    * Someone running a contest to build their list... What pages they used and built.

    * Someone using videos to educate people and get them on their list... What videos did they create, what tactics did they use to get people on their list.

    * What content are people using and getting subscribers?

REAL examples... Like case studies you could say.

    That's what I'm looking for...

Hopefully this thread can get some info like this and become a great resource for Warriors.

I have created a fan page, and will be reporting here what I'm doing.

And one last thing... This is THE BEST advice everyone can get....

Building your list should ALWAYS be your first priority and the first "payment" that you require.
I preach this and preach this to my coaching clients. It doesn't matter what platform, tools, ect you're using. ALWAYS drive traffic to something that builds your list!

Liz, the two people I mentioned, Ben and Michelle, DO show you their ads and campaigns. They show you exactly what's working.

In fact, Michelle Pesosolido is doing a new webinar on Facebook PPC and she's selling it for 50% before it happens on Sept. 9. So you can get it for $47 now, but once it's done, it goes to $97.

      You can see it here:

Now this isn't a great example, but here's a tactic I think would be great for building a list!

    https://www.facebook.com/non.stop.jo...18098318208381

I hate paying monthly fees for apps, and it looks like this person is using Booshaka... Anyone know of an app that will do this?

I think I will try this... Put content on Facebook and give people "points" for taking action. Have some kind of free offer to reward people with the most "points". Hmmmm....

    Liz Tomey,

I'm crushing it on Facebook, but not in the "make money online" space.

And when I say crush it, i'm talking massive traffic and monetization.

But the reason, I'm guessing, that you're not seeing the profitable campaigns and the pages that are successfully being monetized is because people don't like to give up the goods so easily - especially here on the WF

Needless to say, if you're wondering if there is money to be made with Facebook, you are correct.

Not asking what niche, though what type of method? Ads to a fan page and then promoting squeeze pages to the fans? Or ads to a squeeze page tab? Or ads to off FB pages? Or direct to sales pages? Thanks!

Thanks so much for the info Michelle...

True Jason, but with so many people pimping this product and that product you'd think there would be more "case studies". I really don't think FB is going to be great for IM unless we start using it in some seriously different ways.

I've got some good ideas now... Just need to find a developer now.

      Which products are you referencing?

And there are case studies all around. You just have to keep your eyes open for them as they may not be in the form of "I did x, y, and z, and now I'm making a bajillion dollars on Facebook."

I don't share my case study results with people unless I am personally mentoring them - and I'm not cheap and I don't just give the milk away for free.

With Facebook, it's all about building reach and engaging your audience. Or you can just do FB PPC off of Facebook and do some damage that way.

I personally prefer to keep things on Facebook.

The problem with most Facebook guides that show examples and campaigns to show how you can get cheap clicks and likes is that most of them show niches that are easy to get likes for though are not very profitable. Sure it's easy to get a bunch of cheap likes for cute kittens or joke fan fanpages, though there isn't much profit promoting anything on something like that. Then they advertise a guide about how to get 1 cent clicks! It's the same with the YouTube guides that promote getting 1st results and then they show examples and proof with low competition, low volume keyword phrases.

Exactly. The number of leads is meaningless - it's sales that count. If the leads are strong, then great, but I'll happily pay $10 a like if they each generate $20 in profit.

I find Facebook to be really useful for promoting my business. The only thing which annoys me is that it can be quite inconsistent at times. Sometimes I will post a status or photo and it will get a lot of engagement and likes and other times they'll hardly get any.

I think anything and everything you do on Facebook should lead people to an optin... People need to be building an asset they OWN. Facebook owns everything on Facebook... Your fans are theirs! If I could build a list of 10,000 and had a choice that by spending $1 and all 10,000 would be on Facebook or spending $10,000 and all would be in my autoresponder I would spend the $10,000 all day long...

You don't even have to wait until they trust you to make money from your fans. Its all about how you monetize your page.

The way to build trust on FB is with social proof.

Here are some easy ways to get social proof on Facebook:

      1. Having at least 500 fans
      2. Having engagement (likes, shares, and comments)
      3. Using paid ads to and leaving the "sponsored stories" module turned on. (However, I never use it. Although, for social proof, its great bc it tells friends of your fans that they like your page. Almost as good as an endorsement)

Thats about all it takes to build trust on Facebook

Read this and it sounds like a good strategy...

So if I were in the cooking niche I could give away Rachel Ray stuff to play on her name. Wonder if that's allowed?

We don't need statistics to tell us that people literally live on facebook. No other site on the planet has their insane visitor login durations. Okay maybe we do need a stat for that. The thing is if you can engage people on facebook and get them to move off the site into the "real world" where people spend "real currency" instead of having to farm gold coins to buy extra lemon drop levels. Well then you can make a lot of money.

I agree it's not all about "cheap clicks" but the old method of getting cheap clicks to fan pages is losing ground to sponsored stories and much more engaging ways to get people to take action and make us money. You can certainly base your entire business off of facebook and many product creators are doing just that.

I have a Facebook page with over 28,000 fans. I would love to find a method of making some money out of them. My demographic is mainly women between the ages of 30-60. I was using MyLikes to earn a little cash but now they have dropped their CPC down to .007, so forget about them.
I have tried affiliate links both on the timeline and on an associated blog and many other methods, including giving stuff away etc etc.
It is almost impossible to get them to click away from FB. The only thing they have clicked on are MyLike links posted with images and some will go to the blog when I post a link. Like maybe 40-50 out of over 10,000 talking about this.
I have tried various WSO's but nothing seems to work. It's very frustrating!
There must be good ways to monetize this but no-one is letting on....

This is the kind of thing I would like to see some REAL advice on. I know how to monetize my page because it's my market. They click on my stuff and have no issue clicking off of Facebook.

But I'm in some other niches where I could see this being an issue if I start using Facebook in those niches.

So you Facebook gurus... Give this person some advice...

I actually did a campaign on facebook recently doing some affiliate marketing for a launch that has just passed and I must say that after you nail it with the right demographics, traffic can grow very fast. Also I've learned to ignore the suggested bid and pace yourself at your budget.

I went with suggested bid didn't see much change until i tested competitors demographics everyday and tracked(THIS IS A MUST) until I got a good result. I have a screenshot here just to show that i myself was even surprised at the results.

NOTE: I worked very hard on the squeeze page and cloaked my direct linking ad carefully with domain name redirect.(PLEASE DONT TRY TO USE RAW AFFILIATE LINKS, YOU' RE RISKING YOUR ACCOUNT)

I also provided a bonus video course to get conversions. Working very well for me at current. The 0.01 to 0.02 cents per click bring decent traffic still. I tested going all the way up to 0.21. Still got conversions with 0.01 to 0.02 clicks.

Might've gotten lucky but staying on your campaign and optimizing is never a bad thing in my opinion. Will show more results as campaign progresses but as of now definetly a winner in my eyes.

You said TRAFFIC can grow fast, but what about sales... From the image you spent $34... How much did you make from that?

      Liz

P.S. I should note I have not used FB ads EVER. I haven't studied enough to do that. I'm focusing on my current fans, and getting more fans through people sharing my content on my page and getting ready to try a contest...

Yes it was $34 on that 1 ad. I ran 5 ads total in the campaign totaling $175.84 spent on campaign. 3 to the squeeze and 2 direct to offer. I actually made 24 sales which is why i mentioned i might've gotten lucky, because i've also ran campaigns on FB and made no conversions. Lucky for me during launch time the commissions were bumped up to $85 a commission landing me a quick $2040.

By no means am i saying this happens everyday because I've been running ads on FB with no success. no LEADS, CONVERSIONS nothing.

I believe it was the quality of what Mr. Morrison did with his presentation and offer in conjunction with my testimonial style ads. I just said to myself "I will drive traffic and track like crazy and see what happens". This is what happened. Launches are a pretty good way to earn affiliate commissions like these If it is for a reputable person I think. I will continue driving traffic for upcoming launches documenting my progress to see if this continues.

Well now you have a potential blueprint for success with FB ads.

Now you can say you've had success instead of saying you've had no success.

Congratulations. Now do it again, and again, and again, and again.....

I dont know if this is the sort of information your after but here is a quick overview of what im currently on facebook. I created a fake female profile and uploaded provocative photos, not too much that they will get reported and the account banned but just enough to seem real and attract a lot of interest. After doing a bit of advertising the account will gain around 250 friend request every hour. After a couple of hours i will update my status to something alone the lines of

"doing another webcam show soon only for my facebook friends though, my chat room name is (just something that relates to the accounts name) and the cam website im on is (my domain). Inbox me your username once you have joined so i can invite you to my cam room

    xxx Please share this xxx"

On my domain depending on how how much effort I feel like putting in it will usually display a web cam site looking funnel requiring them to input details like

    Username
    Full name
    Email Address
    Where they live
and an optional box for any sexual interests they have, which is advertised as offering them the best rooms possible that meet their interest.

Then after they have signed up they will inbox me their username and I will simply delete them and block them on facebook.

I will let you use your imagination on how I use this information Hope this was some kind of use to you.

I posted this in one of my Facebook groups. I was wondering what you guys here think... Jason Dinner I would love to partner on something like this with YOU!

I know this is WSO JV Central and not FB JV Central (I actually just created that group) but I'm tossing this idea out there for feedback and to see if it's something even feasible...

My thoughts are all over the place so I will try and make as much sense as possible and hopefully it's okay that I'm posting this here. Forgive me William if not.

Here's my thoughts... The group would be a discussion about FB marketing tactics that are working... It would also be for doing FB JVs... Example... You promote my contest to your fans and I'll do the same to my fans... Or Let me give your product away in my contest and you get all the leads... I'm sure there's all kinds of ideas we could come up with.

So is this a good idea?

Is it something that should be charged for or for free?

Should it be a FB group or a site with a forum or profile system?

Should it be for just IM'ers or should it be open for all niches?

    Thoughts?

    I had another success! Woot!

I absolutely LOVE App Sumo... The products are great, and his marketing is phenom! I asked to join their affiliate program, but you have to refer 10 sales before they open the affiliate program up to you. So instead of sending out to my list which I know would have brought in a ton of sales I decided to make a post about their design package on my Fan Page... Only 30 people have seen it so far, and I've made one sale!

So more and more I am confirming that by building a fan page and actually making those people your fans you CAN sell related stuff to them. I am so so so so so excited!

    EDIT:

I also meant to ask... Has anyone used the Boost Post option on any of their posts?

If so what did you do? What settings, ect...

Facebook is well running in India and Facebook is became true media for advertising sector even many of the Company use it for business purpose not only for profile inspection but depth-insights for company growth.as Facebook is giving the opportunity to well grow your small company to large scale with there easy interface and millions of subscriber I have seen many of the shops which are not initially in good condition but when using Facebook they have just posts some offers and people see that offer particularly on that page and go For Shopping and those small start-Ups can reach consumers on Facebook only rapidly
