Absolutely! it seems to be a niche social site, right? if yes, there are thousands of shopping sites out there. Your site must have special content to attract users. Understand your users is very important but even more important to keep them stay in your site.

Interesting concept you have here. I’m not sure it would be very popular. In general, socializing and buying things aren’t really a good mix. For example advertising on social networks is not nearly as effective as advertising in search where people are actually looking for things to buy. I think people either want to socialize or shop but not necessarily both at the same time.

On the other hand, perhaps people would like to shop with friends. It would be interesting to see how this turns out for you if you actually pursue it.

I do not see any problem with it as you are going to launch ecommerce or selling site and its different from the facebook idea

You can make it withotu any problem because facebook is different niche and yours one is sellign site but do remember that you should have differnet domain and logo style in order to avoid legal problems

Nice and innovative concept. You may step forward. But do not copy Facebook and their logo,features etc. Make it different.
