My name or company name for Fanpage

Hi,

I am planning to do some FB marketing for my webdesign business.

I know I need to create a fan page before anything else but here are some of my confusions that are holding me back:

1. Should I create a fanpage using my own name and then put my company url in the about section to drive traffic (as I have noticed on people are interested in connecting with a human rather than a company), or should I make a fan page using my company name?

2. Would it help to have my own pic on my company name fan page, as it will give the page a personality or I am better off using my company's logo?

  • All of this depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you put your own name instead of the company name you are actually presenting yourself as a brand

    I'd go with company name signing the posts with my own name. This will place your company in the first plan but at the same time will give a personal touch to the page.

    • +1 to this. It is prudent to use your company name instead of yours, especially if your business is registered.
  • If you want to make your company popular, then there is no question on making fan page on your name..
  • You need to make the fan page your company name. You can additionally make a personal profile and/or even another page for yourself as a web-designer. But, priority #1, in order to grow your business' social presence, you absolutely need a page in the company's name.
  • Make the fan page under your company name for company branding. Make sure you make the fan page under you real personal Facebook account though.
  • Like others have mentioned, make it with your company name. It will come off as more professional and you'll have more options when it comes to branding.

    Of course, company will be better if you need to get profit in future and expanding your brand name

    • It's adviced to use your actual name and photo for your personal page, and use variations of your brand/company name for different fan pages.

  • GO with a company name that would give your company more exposure
  • Name the page with Company name, you can put your name in the brackets (CEO Anoop).
    Also when you post your real photos, it will look more human and legit.
