Facebook Ad Account Suspended.

Hi,
Remember how all of you are nervous when you are launching yourself in internet marketing? The risk of investing time and money is enough to make anyone think twice. However, we wait, we learn, and we gather the motivation required to put ourselves out there.

This was my story. I saved up a bit of money, picked my niche and started building my fan page. It took time, (obviously money) and resolve, but with each like, comment and share, it seemed that my conviction was strengthening. I could see myself succeeding. I was investing very aggressively, following all the rules and waiting for great results.

Over three months of hard work, and over three years of learning and anticipation went down the drain when Facebook de-activated my account suspecting fraudulent activity. It was a shock, because I did not spam or even post in other groups! All I did was run ads and post content for encouraging engagement with my fans. However, they asked me for my ID and I gave it to them.

Five hours later, I get the following email:
Hi,

Our records indicate that your account was disabled due to suspected fraudulent activity. In the interest of protecting our users, we will not be able to reactivate this account.

Thank you for your understanding,

Hudson

I did not break your rules. I did not do any harm to your community or its users. I am an honest paying customer and my loyalty to this advertising platform deserved only three short and indifferent sentences.

I have emailed them back, asking them to reconsider because this pretty much the end of the IM road for me. I am most probably not going to get reconsidered, and a machine is going to reply back to me.

I am posting this message here so that people are more aware of the kind of problems you might run into on the FB ad platform.

Invest safely and good luck! =)

The real kick in the teeth is that it is suspected fraudulent activity.
Why your account could not be suspended until evidence of fraud was found or presented to you is unfair.

Facebook isnt the only way to make money on the internet so its a bit rash to consider it the end of the IM road.

I know that its not, but I invested heavily, and cannot sustain that loss.

I'm sorry your account was suspended.

But saying your IM career is over because of it is, quite frankly, ridiculous! Yes, it hurts to lose money, but try again. You're no worse off than if you were starting from scratch today.

And if you haven't invested in at least one Facebook marketing course, then do it. You'll save yourself this kind of aggravation if you learn from people who are doing it successfully.

As someone else mentioned, Facebook isn't the only way to build a biz. You need to diversify your lead sources. Yes, in the beginning, focus on one and get that going. Then branch out.

Since Facebook shut you down, try another source. YouTube for example. But first, find a course to show you how to do it right so the same thing doesn't happen!

      Hope that helps!

I did, Michelle. I bought eBooks and video courses. I joined and learned some very active fb groups founded by some really successful people. I encourage your words of encouragement, but I dont think anyone could point out what I did wrong, that is, whether I did anything wrong.

I feel your pain but what the previous posters are trying to
assure you is that you don't have to THINK that this
is the end of the road for you, just a bump.

      Hi RnGWriter,

I think I have good news for you.

I personally have not been involved with facebook as of yet, so I'm just going by what others have said concerning situations similar to yours.

What I can tell you is, from reading a number of different posts on this board is that what happened to you is apparently quite common among even the successful IM's on warriorforum.

I'll try to get the link and post it here.

What people are saying is that, you just get another account on facebook and start over, so I'm taking this to be true.

I myself think it is crazy for facebook to suspend your account, basically on a whim, so just do what you need to do..

There is life after Facebook for an affiliate.

Plenty of networks out there just waiting for an affiliate to get in there and clean up.

But if you can get facebook back, do it lol

None. From the address on my id to the address on my cc and everything.

I know, but given my niche, Facebook was the best option for lead generation. Thanks though, I appreciate the thumbs up.

The fact that nearly every article on that website were posted today and are ripped from other websites after google searches for the content, I don't believe you as an individual has any credibility.

    [UPDATE]
    My account was restored!
I just send them an email outlining my situation and the issue was resolved. Here is what I learned from the experience:
    1) Dont give up. Email them back and explain your case. That you are an honest advertiser and that you have paid all your dues etc etc
    2) make a post on a forum and your own blog and send them the link in your email.
    3) Make it clear that you are not a threat in any way and express your willingness to co-operate in any way possible.

    It worked for me! =)

      Hey Shadab!!!!

I am really happy for you that you got your account restored.

The lesson? If you are using other people's websites you are at risk :|

On this occasion, you were really lucky - in that you were ready to throw in the towel, and they came back and restored your account.

We all need to remember, though, that any posting on other people's accounts - whether Facebook, Google plus, WordPress.com, Squidoo, etc is completely and utterly outside our control. If someone's decides to screw us over we are stuck.

So, don't invest all your time in a site which you don't own or control. Yes, use Facebook to forward your aims but also have your own website where you are constantly sending people and building traffic.

Keep at it - you will get there!

Shadab's right, if you just sit back and wait to see what's going to happen it's not really going to take you far.

The best you can do is to try to explain, even though it's not always a happy-end as in your case mate, my AdWords account got suspended for no reason and I doubt I'll get to retrieve it so easily :/

      Hi RnGWriter

Not sure whether this will be useful at all to you, but would it be worth creating a second Facebook account and inviting this new account to all of your Facebook pages as an admin? You could set up another advertising account on this second account just a backup?

Same exact thing happened to me this past weekend. First i got an automated email saying "Ad was approved." Then I immediately got my ads account suspended for the same reason the OP stated. I sent them all the required verification, and just like the OP, the damn FB interns wouldn't listen and gave me the cold shoulder, LOL.

I have another FB account, so I made it an admin of the page I wanted to promote. The newly-created ad is under review, so let's see what happens this time.

Anyway it's great to know theres light at the end of this tunnel; glad to know your ad account was actually restored.
