Help!... I need to know how to link my Fanpage to my blog

Hello everyone,

I am wondering how to go about linking my fan page to my blog, so that when I post to my blog it shows up on my fan page. I have found apps that link my main facebook account to my blog, but I don't want that, because my main account is personal and not for business. Perhaps that is not possible, I don't know.

I didn't want to create a new facebook account just for my blog, but is that what I will have to do? If anyone knows how this can be done, I am eager to hear your ideas.

    Gabby,

    You can set this up through a free account on Hootsuite. You can link your fan page to hootsuite and then have it automatically post to your FB account whenever there is a new blog post.

    I believe this tutorial shows how to do it with an RSS feed,

        Ok, I did check hoot suite and it also wants to connect to my main facebook page. I have looked for wordpress plugins, widgets well you name it, to find something that will connect my fan page to my blog. I am wondering, if I get the 25 likes to my new fan page, and then I get the unique URL for the fan page, would that be a way to connect my fan page to my blog, somehow? Is that the missing link? I know this must sound really basic, to a lot of my fellow Warriors, so I appreciate anyone who takes the time, to give me some ideas. :confused:

    Hi Debbie,

    Yes what you need to do is go to this page https://developers.facebook.com/docs...gins/like-box/ to create a facebook like box and you can put it on your blog in the side bar under the widgets section.

    To ensure that your link goes to your fan page and not your main FB page, open your fan page and copy your url, then on the page I sent you re creating your like box, paste your url into the box that says 'Facebook page url'. This box will have https://www.facebook.com/FacebookDevelopers as the default, but just delete that and put your url. By doing this it will definitely only go to your fan page

    You can then change the width if you need to make it smaller to fit in your sidebar (depending on what template you are using on your blog). I unchecked the 'header' box as it takes up too much space on your blog. Defo keep the 'show faces' box checked as this helps with social proof

    Once you are happy with it click the 'get code' button and copy the second lot of code that appears (the smaller code). Then go to your blog, widgets section, drag a 'text box' over to your sidebar where you want it and paste code into the box. save and it will be appearing on your blog

          UPDATE:

          I tried one last thing. I deleted all my cookies, logins and browsing history and I don't know what else there, in the Internet Options area, and then I went to tools on Firefox, and deleted browsing history and all those other things, and then went back and put the code back in the text box and Eureka!, it worked. so the FB plugin is there again. So for anyone else who might be having trouble like this, just do what I did, and perhaps that will take care of your problem.
