Can anyone recommend a good Facebook UID scraper?

I use SLF often. Great tool for low price. (Not connected, just offering what I do. that may help others.)

SLF scrapes events, groups, pages (active posts) and some other things.

d/l into an easy to use CSV file. Then use with Custom Audiences for Laser targeted ads.

Way cool tool only scapes wall post and not group posts or group members, plus it uses the facebook API which can get your account banned for heavy use. Other than that it is ok. I do however think Social Lead Freak is a better program.

Have people really had their accounts suspended from overuse of SLF? The developers say it's all compliant with the Facebook TOS.

That is true, Facebook should see it from that point of view. But Facebook doesn't think that way. They routinely ban customers from giving them more business.

It looks both scripts are pretty similar. Which one is better you prefer for speed, capability to abstract ID, etc... ?

Does anyone know how to protect one's real facebook account when using scraping ? Last thing I need is to have my facebook account taken down.

Don't use your personal account - there have def been many people as of late who got their accounts irreparably banned. Also heard rumours of legal action being taken, but I could only imagine those were some rather large fish FB was frying, otherwise it's just not worth their time and/or money.

As for hooowww to use multiple accounts? You can set up virtual servers and run each respective account from a separate server, or run proxies and switch it up between each log-in.

There is no definitive rule FB seems to abide by, you can take NO precautions and get away with it for years, or, you can try it once and find your accounts banned for suspicious activity. You can even have your account banned for suspicious activity if you sign in from a different IP, so it's really a matter of luck.

As for ethics?

I'm not too worried about it. Facebook readily gives marketers the ability to use their API and gives access to all of these metrics/UIDS/etc- they provide us with the tools, lay them out in front of us, then say 'no' 'you can't use them'.

They know we're going to use them, and they want us to use them! They of course have to cover their asses and also present us with the TOS because they're legally obligated to, which leaves the ball in our court with the decision to proceed solely resting on our shoulders ie. legal responsibility..

When it comes down to it though, we're their bread and butter! Without marketers Facebook doesn't exist..
