Alternative Methods to Get Facebook Likes? (& get them fast?)

Facebook ads have gotten me about 170 likes at around $0.10 a like, and now they've just stopped working and money is going down the drain (luckily it's ad credits). I am getting a couple organic likes each day, which is nice, and I have around 191 fans. But, I need more (around 1,000+), and I need them fast.
I still have credits to put into ads, but my main good ads stopped all activity without reason, and all other ads are crap and cost way too much per like.

So, I'm looking for new ideas! Here are the main questions of this thread:

Anyone know a good method good, high quality likes fast and easily? I've tried commenting on related pages, but it's not really doing much for me.

If you have any good ideas for paid likes and Facebook ads, I will try them. (I still have around $30 ad credit left to experiment.)

Please share any suggestions, ideas, questions, or anything else.


Note about my ads:
My page is in the Kindle niche. The target audience is Kindle authors, and writers interested in selling on Kindle. I plan to convert my likes into an email list in the future.
The ad targeted 22,000 people. I limited it to this:
-USA, ages 26-40, speaks English
-Likes "Kindle Direct Publishing", "Writing my Novel", "Fiction Writing".

    Don't waste your money using Facebook Ads for likes anymore. You can get fanpage likes for free from social exchange websites such as AddMeFast or LikeNation and it's pretty easy to get em'. Furthermore, you can buy thousands of Facebook likes for cheap from various vendors on the internet. Don't go through the hassle of paying for Facebook ads anymore.

      Except he's likely looking for quality likes from real people interested in his topic.

      Not crappy likes from far away countries of people who don't speak English and likely aren't even real people.

        Exactly. Buying likes:

        1. Sucks because they aren't targeted, hence worthless for conversions or engagement.
        2. Will be taken off your page almost as fast as they were added. Facebook monitors this like a champ and they pretty much hate it.

        I am looking for quality likes that are actually interested and will convert. I recently submitted an ad for likes from cheap foreign countries at around $0.02 a like. I don't think they will convert as well but I'm willing to try it out and experiment so that I can learn.

        I'm mostly looking for free methods, because the only paid methods are Facebook likes and buying 3rd party likes that never convert. Anyone got free method ideas or experience to share?

          I'm experimenting with FB ads and targeting Ireland, Malaysia, Pakistan, Israel, Indonesia, China, Egypt or Iraq. However, I'm at .13/avg per like since I clicked to let FB's default bid for the most likes possible.

          I also have several keywords I'm targeting with this ad, which probably explains the $.13 rather than $.02 or so other people talk about.

            I have 4 keywords, but they are very specific and targeted keywords. They suggested $0.01 per click and $0.01 per thousand impressions. I tried both click and impressions, and went up a bit and chose $0.02 a click/impression. Ads still getting approved. I guess I'll see how they do tomorrow!
            It's basically a clone of my US ad that did well at first, just for different countries.

                My likes from cheap foreign countries are working. Gotten a few with $0.02 CPC. I'll have to wait to see how the convert. I haven't monetized my page yet, though.

    I have doubts if buying FB likes can really convert to sales, or even traffic. The thing with buying FB likes is that most of these likers are not really your market. I would prefer to still have a good amount of FB likes but they are all interested in my Page.

      Yes, I agree. I only have about 240 likes now, but I'm really doubting if they will even convert. Right now I'm mostly getting likes from India, Malaysia, etc, but the majority of my likes are still US. I will finish what I started, though.

      I've still got $25 left on my ad card and I can still bring my page up to about 500 likes. At that point I will post about a few helpful freebies on an opt-in page where they have to enter their email to get the free product.

      I want to start an email list soon, so this should be great for that.
      After that, I can run the page a little longer and see if it's worth keeping if not, I could probably sell the page to someone else. Since I've only invested $5 into it for an ad voucher, I should be able to make a profit.

      Even if this is a failure, it's still a learning experience!

        Run a competition giving away a Kindle or a bunch of Kindle books, ask users to:

        Like Your Page on Facebook
        Join Your Email List

        Set it to go into a Mailchimp auto-responder.

        The advantage here is that you can actually monetize/convert your users rather than just getting likes & not bothering to convert them.

    I feel your pain. I've tried many methods and the best way for buying likes via FB ads is as follows:

    1. Create an awesome freebie that people in your niche want.
    2. Set up a fangate. I use the free static html app.
    3. Direct FB ad traffic to your fangate.
    4. Require a like for the freebie.

    Now you can do 1 of 2 things. You can offer the download after the like. OR, you can forward the fangate to your squeeze page requiring those who liked the fangate opt in as the final stage of the process.

    I've done both methods. Either way you get the like, but you will tick off some people if you also require the opt in. Unhappy likers unlike and don't engage. But your optimal goal is subscribers, require the opt in.

    I've promoted posts and run "like" ad campaigns, but the method I set out above works best. Plus I get subscribers at the same time.

    The key is a really great freebie that people in your niche will really want. I'm not a big time Kindle author, but if I were interested in becoming one, I'd want a report from someone who was making $5K per month selling kindle books. If you can deliver that, I'm sure you'll find interest ... you could expand your niche as well to internet marketing because it's a sub-niche (at least test it).

    That said, before you spend more money, I would research your niche more on Facebook. See if there are any big Kindle author pages with thousands of fans who engage with likes and shares. If you find one or a few, then you can do it. If you find nothing but dead facebook pages in your niche, consider a different route such as search-based PPC and the other usual channels.

    I've researched about a dozen niches on Facebook to see what works and what doesn't based on pages in those niches. It's hit and miss. I'm not saying you can't make it work ... but it may be that FB is not your optimal channel for traffic.

    im sure is much cheaper than facebook ads

    Can you ask your family and friends to like your facebook page? This will not cost you anything except for your time. Then maybe their friends and family will like and the cycle will continue.
