You cannot find? Well I find several thread about it, how to obtain 1c click on Facebook and can repeat it because I do exact thing with fb ad.
To be able to obtain low click bid, like $0.01 you need to set up your add.
Ad must not point out of Facebook and audience must be targeted. Usually I extract fb ID of members who are interested in my niche, save in a file and upload when ask me in "target audience".
I point my ad to Facebook fan page tab and stay inside the facebook all the time, even when product get purchased or leads get generated.
    I never leave Facebook.
This way you can do it.

You need to do two things to get 1c clicks:

    1. Point to a FaceBook page instead of an external-to-FaceBook web page; and
    2. Get a higher CTR (Click Through Rate) on your ads.

The second is the most important.

The more people who click your ad, as a percentage of the number of impressions your ad receives, the lower your cost per click will be.

That's all there is to it. I get 1 cents clicks all the time.

That said, so what? It's like buying a 'penny stock' and hoping it will rise to $500 per share. The CPC doesn't matter as long as you're profitable. I'd rather pay 50 cents a click on Facebook for qualified prospects.

So do the sidebar ads still work? I tried running them with an event I was promoting and it bombed. As soon as I moved it out into the newsfeed, it took off.

For building your "likes", they only offer that as a marketplace/sidebar ad. Curious as to the effective of it.

Just want to make sure I fully understand #1. Facebook page vs. external to Facebook page? Does this mean that you don't use tabs or iframes? Does this mean that you're building the tab right there on FB? Or does this mean you are going directly to the actual fanpage where the posts happen?

Thanks in advance for your clarification.

Tabs are considered part of the page. External means another website entirely.

I have been working and testing with fb for quite a few months and i have found some very interesting things when it comes to getting dirt cheap clicks

firstly yes you can get $0.01 clicks i had lots of them but you are best off sending the traffic to a fan page

to get cheap clicks like that it comes down to your ctr because if you have a fairly good ctr then facebook (should) reward you with cheap clicks

however the cost of your clicks may change slightly due to a couple of things:

a - your audience become more blind to your ad the more they see it resulting in a drop in your ctr which could then increase your ctr

b - facebook doing strange things - i don't feel that facebook have cracked it quite yet with their advertising platform because some of the results you get just don't make sense. I have had a very good ctr yet the cost per like still remains $0.02 - $0.05 which still isn't bad but of course I am after $0.01 likes

They generally get things right but sometimes you ads may run and things may not quit add up but that's facebook for ya

the bottom line is to get the highest ctr as you can and NOT to target a very broad demographic

I always only target around 100k to about 700K

As long as you know your exact demographic then you will be fine

A lot of it comes down to experience with fb ads so just keep working with it, it's a very good platform but does take practice

Thanks for all the real tips. However there are so many variables that could impact on the cost when setting up the ads.

For example, which kind of campaign am I setting up? News feed? side ads? Optmized CPM? CPC? CPM? Selecting interest (is it just to enter any other fanpage names?), budget matters? Sponsored stories? sponsorsed posts?

It gets so complicated in the end :/

It all depends on what your objective is. Are you trying to get likes for a page, or getting traffic for something off of Facebook?

It is always better to know your audience before placing any ads on facebook.

What exactly is a good click through rate that will get you cheap clicks?

It comes down to testing in the end. Each campaign, audience, banner placement and cpc vs cpm will give different results. There's no one solid answer across the board. Doesn't sound like fun, but when it comes down to it... test... test... test.. :p

If you can get an ad to a ctr of 1 % , that would be what we call a good click through rate.

Good image + good targeting = high CTR = low cost per click. Sometimes a really high CTR just burns your budget though. 1 cent clicks (and much cheaper even) are possible, but not for all targeting or destinations. To fan pages about very popular topics, the best I've done for any significant volume is .2 cents per click. To take people off Facebook, right around 4 cents is my consistent best, but others have done better than that. Just like any other ads, you have to test to find winners.

You can but it is getting harder. It depends on the niche your targeting and your over all ad performance. A high CTR is very important. Also keeping the user within Facebook is key.

As someone said before, the most important part is your ROI. If you're spending $0.01 but you can't convert the traffic, then it's useless. If you're paying $0.65 a click but getting a positive ROI, then cheap clicks doesn't even matter. Paid traffic is great because you have the ability to scale. Focus on getting a positive ROI and then analyze and optimize to A. lower your CPC/cost per lead, or B. raise your value per conversion. Both of those are key factors that go overlooked at times because the focus is too much on "cheap clicks".

That means 1c clicks are only a reward from fb. You can not set it while defining your ad?

The amount you pay per click is completely irrelevant in the end. 1 Cents clicks appeal to stinginess and ego only
