Is there any benefit to paying for page likes?

Is there any way to get legitimate (actual people interested in my product) likes of up to 10,000 on facebook over 5-7 days by paying a fee to someone?

I've been approached by somebody offering similar services but have also read stories of people who've had negative effects by doing this. They ended up with a lot of "dead" accounts or accounts of people who didn't have any interest in their product.

My main curiosity is if it's even possible to get that many legit likes over such a short time frame without using facebook ads or promotions as this person is promising.

Anybody have some decent experience with this?

If person is providing fake likes then they will be useless for you because there are many websites which are providing fake likes.
And if he is providing real likes which are related to your product too. Then, Go ahead.

Well he claims to be able to get real likes.
My question is how it's even possible to get up to 10,000 product relatable likes on a page without using facebook promotions or ads?

        NO! Here's why.

They might be real likes from real people but they won't be:
        a) your target audience and therefore
        b) buyers! OR
        c) engaged with your page.

It'd be like selling out a stadium and no one turning up to the event.
It would be far better to have a smaller organic following of people who genuinely like and interact with the page than 10,000 people's worth of dead air.
If you regularly post good quality posts it would be far more effective long term to pay to boost posts or create a short Ad campaign if you want to build momentum.

Best of luck with it all

I wouldn't trust these kind of promisses...
The only way to get this amount of real likes that fast might be f.e. If they would mention you on the Jimmy Kimmel show or sth like this

    HI

My advice is to take it slow and grow your business with people that are actually interested in what you offer rather then get excited that you have 10k likes that don't reflect on your business

      Thanks for the advice guys!
I agree and can't think of any possible way to get that many legitimate likes in a short time frame unless what artflair stated "I was featured on Jimmy Kimmel" lol

Fake likes, Fake traffic are not worthy. When it comes to social media it is very important to get likes from real people that has the same interest of yours.

I went back to read one of his older emails and he mentions getting the likes through "social media referrers".

No idea what that's supposed to mean.

I don't see the point in paying people for Facebook likes. Well, don't get me wrong. Doing that makes your Facebook page look successful. However, doing so will never give you the guarantee that you will get the kind of likes that you really need for your business. It will always be better to do things your own way and let high quality likes come to your page.

Would you pay people to come to your corner store to buy stuff from you in the real world? If it doesn't happen in the real world, then there is no way it will work in the online world. You will simply lose money and get fake accounts. Fake accounts will never buy anything from you!

    • The only use for fake likes is when you first launch your fan page. I bought 1000 likes from Fiverr just to make my page look a little sexy when people first come to it. Better for them to see about 1000 likes than 10 or so. But after that, they are all real likes.

Social proof is the only reason I can see for doing it, otherwise it's pretty useless.

So this means when you promote a post your paying more for the promote because of the fake 1K likes (the cost depends on your like count)

This also means that when you make a normal post the odds are high that is the fake likes that are seeing your post and not the real people.

Buying likes is not only a waste its detrimental. However like sellers try to play on peoples insecurities saying things like .. if people see you only have 10 likes .. bla bla bla. There the social media equivilant of those midnight tv shows that try to sell insecure men penis enlargement pills.

Let me tell you I have been developing Facebook apps for nearly 5 years now. I have worked with scores of very successful Facebook marketers. Never has any one of them purchased likes. I mean just think about it. Do you really think someone is going to come to your fan page and say .. geee I love this pages posts, wow the info they provide is great, hey this is so useful .. but oh shoot Im not going to like them just because there new and only 10 other people have so far. Its so stupid to think that its actually laughable.

You hit it right on the head with your post, more likes give you so i proof. The ore likes you have on your page the more real people will look at your page, after all who would go into a restaurant with only a few customers while the one next door is full to the brim?

Exactly. Buying likes is just something that can help you establish credibility at some point. If people see that you are getting a lot of page likes, they will think that you must have some interesting things to offer to your page likers. Then, they will like your page, too, out of curiosity. Other than that, I no longer see benefits that you can get from buying likes.

I would say don't pay for likes you have to give something of value then you will naturally get the likes that you are looking for.

Don't pay for likes. They will quickly drop off and they are not truly your target audience. I would suggest utilizing contests or surveys and a promoted post strategy to help speed up your audience building process.

Exactly. Though a bit more time-consuming, I still see all the benefits from doing things the natural way. By awesome marketing strategies and by knowing where to find your target audience, you will be able to get the high quality likes that you need to make your business grow.

This is only my observation because until now I have a few followers in my fan page.
This is the biggest myth perpetuated by the fan brokers on the web.

You have NEVER visited a page that you found interesting and then said "Nah, I'm not going to like it because only 80 other people do."

    Never happened.

You don't need a pretend big following to attract a real one.

This is correct. I myself "Like" pages if they genuinely catch my interest or answer my needs. I have hardly ever considered the total likes of the page in my decision to follow it.

My suggestion is to focus on creating engaging content and content sharing exchanges with other pages that have similar products or services like yours. If you do so, you have a larger change of actually gaining likes from your target market.

Interesting topic. I've seen the social proof of buying likes work very well for quite a few people.

Most of the ones talking about buying the social proof of likes aren't saying to buy 5,000 or 50,000 likes.

I can see the benefit of starting off with maybe 500-1000 likes to start the ball rolling and then allowing the purely organic "real" targeted market to compensate over time to help build your edgerank (yes I did read Ron's blog post).

If you have zero followers and it shows zero followers, it seems all the same to me as having zero followers but showing 500...

When I'm checking on the credibility of people, I go to two places....facebook fan page and linked in.

For me, I'd rather see someone not have a fan page at all than see them with 26 likes.

On the other side of it...seeing someone with 10,000 likes but no activity on their page makes it look a little obvious.

Call me the purple cow but I believe there's a middle ground here.

You have to start somewhere ... if you start by faking it, you're destroying your credibility right out of the gate. I was looking for a new accounting firm and came across a local company that had 800 facebook Likes. I thought that was a little odd. For starters, because a firm of their size probably doesn't even have 800 CUSTOMERS much less 800 who would actually like their page. Even BDO, the largest accounting firm in the WORLD, managing billions of dollars of assets, only has 17,000 something. I've seen dollar store shampoo with more Likes than that. Yet here's this little 4 person company with 800 likes and no interaction on any of their posts.

I looked at the stats and 98% of their Likes were from Venezuela.

Credibility = 0. These guys could have been the best accounting firm in the state for all I know. But I'll never know, because I simply can't trust them enough to hire them. Getting real followers isn't hard, if I see someone with a tiny Facebook following my first thought isn't that they suck or no one likes them, it's that they just haven't found a way to make Facebook a part of their business or don't care to.

Here's the main issue I have with buying Facebook likes. And, it's a small detail but something which might stand out to the observant Facebook user. Let's say you start your page on December 1. And, by December 7, you have 5000 likes. Now the person reading your page will see that you joined Facebook (as in created your page) on the first of Decemeber. And, it's likely to raise some red flags that you have so many likes.

If someone is saying that I will give you 10,000 real likes in 5-7 days, then it is totally unethical because it is impossible. Ya, one can do it by using tool or any other process but it will be untargeted. Real like means targeted customers from where you can get business.

Hello, Purchasing likes does not benefit your brand at all. Your fans or followers don't care about you, and likely aren't even reading what you spend your time writing. They are most likely fake accounts that are completely inactive and completely invaluable. By taking a few simple steps, you can promote your page without spending a dime. Here are seven top tips for marketing your Facebook page!

    • Create interesting, witty content
    • Use larger images with descriptions shorter than 3 lines on Facebook
    • Keep the content about you and your products to a minimum, and focus on engaging your customers
    • Use pertinent #'s (hashtags)
    • Take part in # community dialogues on Twitter
    • Respond to your @connects on Twitter
    • Use hyper-targeted Facebook Ads

hope these are helpful for you. Have a charming day

It is possible to generate real fans interested in your product without using the methods you listed. I know and have previously tried the method. However the last time I used it, I only got around 1000 likes in 3 days. I don't know how long you were quoted for the 10k targetted likes but it definitely will be a scam if he will be delivering under 15 days.
