Analyze your website, your competitor website and current trend. Freeze the keywords which you want to target for particular page. After that, create title and meta description with the help of those data. Make sure you optimize them properly. If it done properly, go for link building.

Content is the king, make sure you have 100% original content, then use metatags like keywords, description and title..

On the side of link building i am not sure that any method is working right now or not after google penguin update...

Hello,

It is not about teaching you seo basics, concepts and techniques. But you need some basic seo knowledge that you must gain only if you understand the working of search engines. Hire a seo consultant if you need to do SEO for your website vigorously. If you want to be serious about an SEO business you'll need to develop your own site, make it look professional and then get it ranked in a highly competitive keyword.

In the mean time I'd suggest going to forums like v7network and digitalpoint and posting up an seo offer there.

If you are willing to cough up some dough, I'd head over to oDesk and hire an SEO consultant. He/She would be able to give you personalized and actionable recommendations. Heck, they'd even be able to do it for you. This route would limit the possibility that you make mistakes on your first time. Also, working with an experienced consultant would increase your knowledge tremendously.

The two most important things:
1. Linkbuilding (this is easily the number one way to rank)
2. All other on page optimization

Here's what I'd say about linkbuilding (to give a general understanding of it):

SEO 101 - How Backlinks Work - YouTube

As for on site optimization, these are the most important things:
1. Meta tag optimization
2. Keyword density (yes it is still relevant)
3. Internal links to other high quality content.

If you can utilize wordpress plugins, this one helps you quite a bit with the first two: The Yoast Wordpress SEO Plugin

Another thing that holds a bit of weight (especially as you accumulate content) is the name and advisory title of your links and images - keep it short and sweet, but always use your most relevant and important keywords in these sections.

SEO stand for Search Engine Optimization, Where the focus is to improve the quality of the Website with respect to users & search Engine so, that you can achieve higher rank with respect to the users query. Yes indeed, ON-page SEO play a vital role.
Start by analyzing your website, Optimize the Title, Meta Descriptions , Meta Tags in every page of your website. While implementing the Title, Meta Elements make sure that you adhere to the character length.
Next steps is to do a competitors analysis so that you can keep a track of it & make necessary ON - page changes.
Take care of Image optimization, Video Optimization, Navigation of your website,

Make sure you are targeting a niche that people are really interested in and not just popular keywords but an actual industry which has a sustainable income source, such as affiliate or direct marketing products or even high click through rates on Adsense. Without these, even the best SEO will produce very little else than traffic. When what you really want are paying customers.
