Facebooks likes valuable?

Hi,

I have always dismissed Facebook to advertise on because I just didn't believe it would work for some reason. I have done well with just sending people to a squeeze page and capture email addresses.

Now, I'm wondering how valuable are Facebook likes really? Can I send out mass-messages to everyone who has liked my page?

Are likes the only thing you can go after by advertising on facebook or can you send them to a squeeze page as well? Maybe you first get them to like the page, then get them to sign up on your email list by linking to your squeeze page in your status updates? What do you recommend?

Thanks.

We can calculate and compare how many our fans like every updated status. 100 fans is better than 2 million fake account

If you would compare your facebook likes to email addresses, how much would they be worth in $-amounts or percentage?

Obviously I'm talking about real "likes" from real accounts.

Facebook likes have a lot more value than simply per user and calculating their worth is much more complex than calculating the worth of an email list which is already difficult if you have a large list with many active readers. What seems valuable to know to me is what value you are getting out of the fans you have. The hundreds of thousands of fans I have provide little value individually but their collective numbers have helped me land big opportunities I would not have got without them.

The latest research just put the scientific stamp of approval on the theory that Facebook fans are more likely to purchase products that they "like." The proved it so now there is no excuse to neglect your Facebook fans! You know what they are worth, now it is time to get out there and take care of them. Run specials to encourage future fans and reward current fans.

    Hello,

As Facebook becomes a dominant tool for marketing around the world, studies are starting to pop up to prove how effective it is at reaching a target market. I think every single like is valuable, real or not. the more likes you have, the bigger your page looks. the more people will think of you. its like having more friends. it will also get other people to like your page and put you higher in search results.

    Have a nice day

After some algorithms change though (EdgeRank?), it's kinda weird now when you have 6000 fans but only 200 are seeing your post on the fan page

Facebook likes can be very valuable depending on how you use your Facebook page and promotions. Having a large Facebook fanbase can be a sign of popularity, authority or credibility that you can promote. And yes, you can use your Facebook page to direct your fans to your squeeze page with promotions or interesting content

Ideally, what you post on your page would also show on your fans newsfeed or timeline unless they blocked you or hid your feeds. This is why it's important that you regularly engage your fans, so they would have a reason to click on your posts and go outside of Facebook.

Likes are just an indicator. If you look into your pages insights it would give you an idea of the demographic that goes to your site. If you're attracting the right kind of market. And yes you can send them to your squeeze page. It's all a matter of how you structure your ad and how you present your squeeze page in your posts.

If it were me, I would design a Facebook app that would lead them to a squeeze page that provides your Facebook fans with an exclusive offer. That way you convert more likes into actual clients. You could also encourage previous and current clients to leave testimonials or share the services that they love through Facebook.

Yes, likes are worth getting if you plan on continuing to post to you Facebook page.

Yes, you can get a like and an email subscriber at the same time. This is what I do all day long. Use a fangate and redirect it to a squeeze page. Best bang for your buck. Have a great offer and target your ads to that offer.

You need Facebook Trust Jacker where you can send the Facebook traffic to New York Times but its your page that controls what happens there. Then a popup with a give-away and you have the emails if you think you need them.

The ways things are going however is people will see your offer on Facebook and buy from there on Mobile or Web.

I would rather have 100,000 likes on a Facebook IM page then 100,000 emails.
