Anyone having success selling t-shirts on social media?

I've been trying to sell shirts through FB but I'm not having any success at all and it's really frustrating. I'm currently trying to do a fundraiser for Movember and I created ads directed towards people in that niche, created invitations, posted on pinterest and twitter with only 1 click so far after tens of thousands of impressions. Has anyone ever had any success selling t-shirts through social media? if so do you have any tips?

thanks

That sounds tough to do. Pinterest seems like the right venue...maybe the image is putting them off from clicking?

I agree with Performance man 100%. When I first started my business, I tried to sell t shirts and had zero luck using any social media or online advertising channel except pinterest. The best part is Pinterest is free and it works great to get sales especially around the holidays if you build a community of people following you that are interested in what you do. This thread has a lot of detail on how to do it.

I started an apparel business through instagram, and I've sold about 400 shirts since june when I launched my site.

It's tough, I never had much success on FB. I get a lot of traffic through pinterest but it hardly ever converts.

Sometimes though, it's just the product. Have a great product and it can go viral and next thing you know- you're sold out.

  • FB isn't really the best place to sell tangible items unless your working with a really small, tight knit community who already knows about your shirts. I would suggest selling your shirts through amazon, ebay or though your own website and using FB and social media to promote items and announce promotions.

Movember is already here but if you want to use FB ads, don't target randomly. Look for groups that support Movember causes. Join the groups and find the FB user ID of each member. Then, create an ad and target it to those specific members whose user ID you have. FB power editor allows you to target ads on partcular user IDs that you specify.

You don't need to spend money on ads on Facebook if you can use a free resource like Pinterest. It does take a little time though but if you do it effectively you can easily sell your products on Pinterest.
