How do you get traffic from Google Plus?

Hi, guys! What strategies do you use to drive traffic from Google+? From my experience the only effective way to get visits from there is sharing good content to its numerous communities. Building circles doesn't work for me. People in circles who added me back don't seem to care about my posts no matter how awesome the stuff is. Thanks.

Lol, yeah…I get the same feeling too. Very rarely someone will click on your link. Seems like people are all promoting their own business, not interested in clicking links of other peoples’ businesses.

Google+ is a hard social platform to gain traction on because it's still in it's fledgling stage. You're smart to look for a good strategy though - it's a brilliant idea to be at the forefront of the Google social scene when it takes off! And with the money and influence (not to mention genius minds) Google has, you can bet your butt it will.

    Good luck!

Google Plus barely registers for traffic. Craig Ettinger, gm of Time.com, wouldn’t give numbers but said that traffic from the social network “is not significant.” For example, this piece on the looming global shortage of wine has 1,100 likes on Facebook, 256 tweets and two — yes, two — Plus Ones.

I get good traffic from G+. One of the secrets of getting traffic from the network is to have a circle of people interested in what you are offering. Make sure you segment the people in your circle so that you can share your posts to those that its is relevant to.

Also, don't just share the URL of the post, have a call-to-action that will make people want to visit the link. One strategy I find working is asking a question and telling people to read the link to find the answer. For example, I can have something like "5 things that your hosting company doesn't want you to know. Find out which one you should be worried about..Read here...(put_link_here)"

I wrote about driving traffic with G+ on my blog. Google my name.

Thanks, these are useful tips. I'm gonna follow your blog. Though the main problem is that everyone who adds me to their circles is definitely interested to turn me in their reader, subscriber and buyer, they don't want it the other way around. The whole system with circles reminds me of safe lists when everybody posts and nobody reads. Even if my G+ post stands out, who actually sees it? I share it to my circle but all people might have hidden the streams of content flowing from their circles and never check them out.

I've been with G+ since the start, jumped through all the hoops, designed stoopid big cover images, intergrated various Local pages, YouTube accounts, set up new gmail addresses, created circles, joined circles, even linked it to my Facebook groups and the results have been...
    Lousy.

I dunno how long it's going to take off, or if it ever will, but Google+ just ain't working for me like FB, Pinterest and Twitter.

Posting comments in groups always help. I like to +1 posts and leave comments on posts for friends that I follow. I think this helps as well. If someone you know has a nice following, maybe they might check you out if you leave an interesting comment.

Thanks, this helps a bit. Now I'm commenting, but only on viral posts with lots of shares to reach more people. However, currently it only results in more pluses and more people adding me to their circles. No extra traffic but I believe, at least I'm building a social recognition little by little.

Google+ helps to get traffic but the traffic is not form the Circle people. Actually the circle here is huge and it is not easy to cope up with everything but it does hit in Google very good.

    8. List your website link in G+
    9. Post images and videos.
    10. Join related communities and post in them.

    Have fun

google plus , driving slow traffic to your website
communities contain people just like you , looking for some free hits ( you go to a comunity page & do nothing but publish your links )

    - the only effective way is creating page & invite people to follow personally then host hangouts " this way rocks "

Thanks. Gotta learn how to use hangouts. This is also the way to produce good content by ''hanging out''.

As you have mentioned, the best way i'm gaining lots of traffic is posting interesting, relevant content in communities related to my product. Apart from that I'm not really gaining much more traffic organically through my profile.

Yes it is right that posting in a Google group really help you to promote your website.

But remember the group must be updated regularly. Post recent changes about your website, upcoming stories and etc.
Finally if you create a helpful group to the user they will start following or subscribed to you group.

I post to a lot of groups. Some of them are thoroughly moderated and strict. They keep their content useful and engagement high. This is where most G+ traffic comes from. These places are definitely not for spammers or lazy link submitters. People actually communicate and contribute good stuff. As to creating my own G+ community I'm reluctant to. There's too much work promoting it and I'm not sure how to grow it fast.

Google+ is still in its infancy. I think its going to be a powerhouse place to market soon as the numbers start scaling up. I think its hard to promote any home business or product there due to there being so few users.

And even the users that are there are not very comfortable with the entire G+ interface.

To make good use of google plus you should have a complete and strong attractive profile, find people with same interests, join as many circles as you can, share valuable posts, join hangouts and communities.
If you have good presence and credibility you can pull good traffic from it.

Don't just publish links to your website or blog posts over and over. That's boring and will be viewed as excessive self-promotion. Your Google+ stream of updates should be interesting and meaningful to your audience by publish and share interesting updates and links that your target audience will find value in and appreciate seeing.
