Hello. I'm new to IM, so please forgive me for newbie mistakes.

I have a FB page for my recipes blog. I have almost 12,000 "likes." My blog received over 2600 unique visitors last month. Both blog and FB page have been around for three months, and have been receiving positive feedback. However, there isn't much success with the affiliate products I've been promoting - currently promoting recipe books and cookware.

Right now, I feel discouraged. Has anyone had success with affiliate sales on FB page?

Thank you!

I have quite a bit of success promoting affiliate products to FB fans. I don't slam affiliate links on my FB page. Instead I write articles that pertain to a product and then link out to the product. I also have an "Additional Resources" section under my content.

It takes a little trial and error and not every one of my efforts work. BUT when a piece of preselling content works, I buy FB ads to promote that FB post sending more traffic to the content.

Consider using Adsense as well (not sure clicks are all that high in your niche though).

That said, I'm in a niche that's probably easier to sell affiliate products than you are. The plus side with your niche is you have potentially millions of fans and visitors - big volume can make up for lower conversions.

If I were you and you have the time, look into Pinterest. My understanding is food does really well on Pinterest and it could be a ton of traffic for you once you figure out the Pinterest thing.

Finally, build an email list. That's very doable in your niche I think. A great batch of recipes for a particular type of food or event.

Thank you so much for your input. You're helpful. I think I can start posting the recipes from the books, and then add a link in the bottom as resource. I do have a pinterest account, but have been inactive due to Pinterest's rather-interesting user interface - time for me to get used to it I suppose :O)

Thanks again. Really appreciate your advice.

    Hi ETR,

It's interesting that you are grabbing 2,600 unique visitors with minimal success. I would love to take a look at your site, can you PM me the link?

Maybe try running a contest? Or visit some other recipe fan-pages and engage with folks and answer questions and so forth...that could get folks looking upon you as an expert and want to purchase from you since you have given value...also, maybe shoot some videos of you possibly cooking of of the recipes in the book...maybe host a hangout where folks can ask you questions about some of the recipes the would recipe in your book or ask u questions about whatever they are trying to cook

should not only focus to promote or sell it on - constantly. Create content with updated information that people are talking about or something useful that other people like to read the contents of your content. how to make your campaign different from other people. one example is the sharing of useful information that eventually people will be curious with you and who are you? nah there was an opportunity to sell

There are lot of creative ways to monetize your page in addition to using affiliate links. Doing a bad job with affiliate links can lower your reputation, engagement, and follow up. What if you asked your audience directly what they needed and then you could figure out a way to provide it for them? Usually knowing why they are following you first and then figuring out how you can connect them with what they want will ensure you do the right work and get paid for it!

    Hello,

Facebook is a social marketing network that puts you in touch with millions of individuals around the world -- and that makes it a very powerful marketing tool. To effectively and dynamically promote your affiliate product create a business page highlighting the product clearly. Use merchant information (logos, product info, etc.) on the page and build a page that looks great, is informational and attracts your target audience. Be careful while posting information from the merchant.

If you are serious about making money from affiliate sales, then it is a must to get a following on Facebook. Most people think that you need thousands of fans to make any money but that is not the truth. You don't need a lot of fans, but you will need fans that are interested in what you are talking about. Trust me, if you follow what you have learned here, you will be making affiliate sales in no time at all.

    Have a nice day
