How to Use Tumblr For Your Business?

Years ago when I was first introduced to Tumblr
it was actually through the help of my teenage daughter.
For a while there it seemed like every other sentence
that came out of her was....

"Guess what I found on Tumblr today?"

After finally giving in I gave the site a shot.
My first thought was how it appeared to be geared
towards a much younger crowd. Its a very popular
site (with killer page ranking and authority) so
I'd like to know how you use it.

Please share how you implement the free blogging
platform into your small business and network
marketing plans. Of course, if you do in fact use it.

Thank you ladies and gents.

If you are using WordPress then install JetPack and attach Tumblr. It can help to spread your communications.

tumblr is great because it has high page rank. And after the
takeover from yahoo. yahoo is trying to get more people as their users with awsome features. It is really easy to get more followers very fast with posting engaging conetnt and following them . and the really great think is that tumblr doesn't require to post uniqe conetnt .

      I appreciate that, sir!

I'm not surprised. I recently checked Alexa and the
demographics show that the majority of users are
young women who access the site from school.

(As opposed to work or home).

      Go figure.

The quickest way I was able to generate traffic on tumblr was to search for specific posts by keyword and my daily routine was this.

        I shared quality images from
        -weheartit
        -giphly
        -pinterest
25 daily and using the tumblr scheduler so it was automated.

I liked 100 posts daily so I got a lot of reciprocity.
I also added 150-200 people daily. After two weeks I got minimum 110 reblogs per day which resulted a lot of passive traffic.

I just use it for some extra traffic and have never really given it much thought or time.

I do pick up the odd follower every now and then which = more traffic in the future.

I just got my tumblr account canceled for NO REASON whatsoever last week. Just tried to log in and it stated "account canceled". I emailed support and this is the response I received:

      Hello,
We've terminated your Tumblr account at ***** for spam or affiliate marketing. Per the policies you agreed to when creating your account, Tumblr prohibits such activity.

Don't put deceptive links or dubious code in your posts. That includes using Javascript to inject unwanted ads in blogs, links to external commercial websites or embedding links to interstitial or pop-up ad services. Don't use deceptive means to generate revenue or traffic, or create blogs with the primary purpose of affiliate marketing.

Unfortunately we can't restore accounts that have been terminated for violating our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
      Best regards,

BUT the strange thing is I NEVER promoted any affiliate links or spam EVER. I had over 200 posts, with 1000+ followers and now all gone in a blink of an eye without a single warning or a specific reason! I even responded asking them to SHOW me my specific post that was in violation and they never responded. Tumblr was giving me good traffic but this is such B.S. in my opinion. All that time wasted :-(

I think that happened because you probably reblogged a post that contained affiliate links from another account. It happens all the time specially in the adult niche.

    Hi kevin,

In my opinion, Tumblr is a great social networking site with lots of users. If you increase your social engagement, you'll get a lot of traffic. But, Tublr traffic are not high converting traffic. I've found pinterest traffic are converting much better.

Something important to remember is that when you fit in with Tumblr culture, Tumblr users are happy and willing to reblog and like good content. So don't be afraid to "signal boost" as they call it those posts about a missing gal or any good social justice post.

I have been off Tumblr for a while, but am making it a big part of my SM trifecta for 2014: Pinterest, Reddit, and Tumblr, because I have enjoyed those sites more and my genuine pleasure from interacting has always brought me good results.
