Publishing YT Videos with copyrighted music

I am trying to publish videos with copyrighted music. I am doing that right & proper way by acknowledging attributiion etc. Problem is that as soon as I acknowledge attribution, they cut the video to the length of 1 second.

Idea is that I publish their content and than promote it for traffic. Copyright owner gets money from ads, Google Play and iTunes. I get money from affiliate sales. So it works for both sides.

Issue is that I don't understand why are they shutting me down, while they are letting so many other videos do the same thing.

If you are just putting the actual music videos on there as they are then they will not allow that.

Why should you get a cut of the money to be made from doing that when you have absolutely no rights to it?

The only experience I have had with copyrighted music is when you have a video such as a montage and put music over the top. When you have a video of something that just has the music playing in the background they usually let you get away with it and they put the 'buy on itunes or amazon' buttons near the description.

If there is none of your own content though, you're screwed and rightly so.

My contribution is not so much in content, but in promotion. I'll bring tons and tons of traffic to that video. I can show that video to 100,000 people within a first month. That's why they get sales from music (iTunes, Google Play) and I get sales from affiliate products. I hope now its more clear.

I am not infringing their copyright in any way. Actually I will make them more money.

Do you have the copyright owners permission to post their music? If not, you are infringing on their copyrights. Attribution does not mitigate the required permissions.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Did you try to contact the company that has copyrights to that video(s), explained the situation and asked them for a permission to use it? They might agree to that. I'm not sure if it normally would work but it is worth to try...

You are right. Acknowledging attribution doesn't constitute granting of the rights. Its only that there are so many video channels doing that with apparent approval from record company. I am going to try to approach them, its worth a try.
