Few question about FB ads for Likes

I'm not new to IM, but i do am newish to fanpages & getting Likes from FB ads, so i have a couple questions:

-Using the optimized cpm, will FB stop showing my ads if they stop receiving Likes? or if it doesn't perform well from the get go?

-Is it true that targeting a smaller demo (under 100k) is better than a 1million demo when trying to get likes?

-Has FB stopped allowing us to choose "in between" ages...? I can't select to target example 25-30...it'll either be 25 and more or 30 and less...

    1. Facebook will keep running your ad as long as it's active. You need to manually pause it.

    2. Not true. Most my ads target 2-7 million people and I still get penny clicks.

    3. You can do that. I just went to "create an ad" now and took a screenshot to show you:

      1- i meant if FB stops sending impressions if the ads don't perform well from the get go...or do they give it some time to be seen by enough people?

      2-Ok good, i'll reach more people, as i can with my demos.

      3-For me, it's not possible:S if i want to do 25-30, i choose 25, but then when i click the 30, the 25 resets to 13...same for the opposite, when i go back to select from 25...the 30 resets to "any"

    They will always keep showing your ads as long as they're active. If you're not getting any likes, your CPM will go up and fewer people will see your ads, but they won't stop showing the ads. They only make money by delivering impressions.

    Once in a while a campaign will just get "stuck" from the beginning and not get much/any reach, but I think that's a glitch rather than intentionally cutting your ads.

    Ok i see...so i should redo a new campaign completely. Cause i've got a reach overall of over 900k people, yet after 2hr only reached les than 30...I'm on optimized cpm.

    Let it run a little longer before deciding to stop it...at least 24 hours. Usually the auto-optimizing takes a little while. If it doesn't use up your daily budget that's a good indication it's stuck and needs to either be jolted, or just replaced with a new campaign.

    Well so far it's spending my daily budget without any likes...I have a feeling people in the US are less "likers" than the same demos but in other countries :S

      Same here. Ive used to create and succesfully run great ads, even with a ~3% ctr rate.

      The last 5 days i've been testing with cpm.
      25000 impressions - 1 click.

      Ive tried over 12 different images/colors + texts

    2-3$/day...like many suggest to start with. I've stopped the campaigns, i think it's the demo itself...

    I've started 2 new campaigns but for clicks to website instead of getting likes...On a demo reach of 180k & 400k, with max cpc slightly over the max suggested bid...i'm getting barely any traffic. Reach seems low or inexistant. Do i need to raise my bid even higher than the suggested max bid? of and my daily budget even tough i've put it at 50$...not seing movement :S

      On CPC I always bid at least double the high end of the suggested bid to start, sometimes 5x. I have never been charged anywhere near as much as these high bids, but I guess it tells their system that you're serious. Sometimes jacking your budget up will jolt a stuck campaign into working, but $50/day should be plenty. I can't figure out what's going on there. Sometimes it happens to me and if none of this works I scrap it. Good luck!

    Are you guys also trying the 'promote page' option for getting likes? I did a 5$ 1 day promote-page campaign for my client, according to statistics we got 458 likes from it [0.01 per like] but in reality we did even better, we got 540 new likes for 5$ and they are all highly targeted ready to buy clients.
    I would highly recommend that.
