Posting To Facebook Groups

Has anyone out there had any success posting to Facebook groups to drive traffic to their offers? The same question stands for groups within other social media sites such as LinkedIn, and Google+.

I've always been under the impression that posting to groups is the best way to increase your following in the various social media sites so that you'll have people to market to. Is this still a valid strategy for that purpose, or is there a better way? If there is a better way, what is it?

  • Posting in groups is great way of reaching a targeted audience. It could definitely drive traffic given that you have the permission of the group moderator and you write your post in a way that really makes the group interested in your offer.

Facebook groups are pretty much useless. Instead, try posting in pages. For instance, if your write something about Samsung mobile, try posting in the Samsung page. They like or not, your post will show up in their timeline, and you'll receive plenty of clicks on your article.

This is horrid advise. All this is going to do is get you banned from the page. Are you actually telling people that spamming pages is a good idea? Its not.

This is good advise, just be sure your posts to the groups are relevant and useful.

the only way that will work going forward is if your post are on personal account not a page (edgerank will filter that down to nothing). The key is to get 'targeted friends to add you'. That there is art in itself.

Anyway, pages or groups - you should contact their admins first and propose cooperation if you have something to offer in turn. If not, I think there should be some paid offers like 'I pay you a certain amount of money and you make a post on behalf of you page\group with a link to my page or website. Beforehand you should thouroughly examine what groups\page s matches your audience and if possible request data insights of the page you're contacting to.

So long as the group you are posting in is related to your own page (or the types of things you are linking to in your own Timeline), then it could produce good traffic. Not suggesting that you blatantly spam links in groups but a polite suggestion that someone visit your link (assuming links are allowed) might be the way to go.

May I suggest to use hootsuite to join relevant groups by keyword but glance at the group to see if there is nothing but spam already. many of them have nothing but spam in them..just marketers posting on schedules.

You would just be adding to it. What i do is look at the groups that have engagement on posts and that will show you the activity level in a group. compile a list of those types of groups in your niche and post to contribute in those groups.

and refer to your link like "btw my blog post has a great example of xyz" use "side door marketing" to your advantage.

Setting up your own group on Facebook is a great way for you as a business owner to brand yourself as a leader in your industry. You can easily set up the group to include your company name, address and photograph, as well as a link to your website and contact details if you so wish. Not only will you have the opportunity to post a link to your website on the groups home page but you will also have the chance to control discussions within the group, to add content and message members with useful links to information on your company website. If you do this well, you could see an ever increasing flow of traffic to your website.

Although building a group up from the ground could take a while it might be better than trying to spam links in another member's Facebook group. That type of behavior will only get you banned from the group. Having your own group ensures you can share links when you want.

    Hi,

Posting to Facebook groups or any groups for the purpose of getting more traffic isn't really effective.

Yeah, you'll get some traffic to your blog/site, but I think that your time is better spent in groups that actually promote in-depth discussions and making real connections with other people, rather than just syndicating links.

Directly engaging and interacting with people in groups and other platforms is how I was able to drive my first bits of significant traffic (nearly 20k visitors in 3 months). And it was those connections and relationships I built that helped me to sustain my traffic and growth for the long-term.

So that's what I'd focus on. Yes, syndicate your links but try to build conversation and engagement with the other group members. That's where the real value lies.

    Hope this helps you.

I agree, and if you drop a bunch of affiliate links without providing value you are gonna get your account burnt fast.

Using something like Trustjacker/Clickjacker to provide useful content with a bit of advertising in the form of a pop-up ad might be one way to fly under the radar... (hint).

Facebook or other social media sites are all about engagement, networking and conversations. Your content should be such that it should be engaging and informative. If that is so, then there is a chance of getting good response from Facebook marketing. Otherwise, even posting promotional messages hundreds of times might not get you any noticeable response. In the end, you will just quit and say 'Facebook marketing does not work' when in fact it was your marketing strategy which was flawed.

facebook groups seem to just be nothing but spam back and forth. Where it most logically seems the place to find targeted traffic. All social media is about engaging with people so if your engaging and building relationships then cool. If your just posting and spamming groups. Relook your strategies and get some tweeking.

I believe if you post valuable content that of interest to the members of the groups you post in...you will get some kind of traffic to your site.

If you continue posting and sharing valuable content in these groups over time you begin to attract return visitors from these FB groups.

You can get awesome traffic from facebook groups if you automate your posting. I've been posting to groups every 10mins for 2 months now and I've enjoyed lots of high converting traffic so far. Automatic posting in Facebook groups might get you banned from those groups are banned by Facebook. The best strategy would be to use a Facebook ID scraper to get the unique user ids of all members in your groups and then use cheap Facebook ads to target those users.
Basically instead of spamming user on Facebook you are turning them to highly targeted leads
