I want to know what exactly link exchange means and how it is help full for SEO point of view please any one explain how i can do it to increase traffic to my website.???

      It is when people agree to have links to each others sites on their site. Google will penalize you for this. Links to your site must come naturally.

    Be careful with link exchanges, as Google clearly states that they don't like it. I really can't understand why they don't like it, however, this is the reality.

    Google doesn't like any linking strategy that appears "unnatural" or automated. Link exchanges are no different than buying links as far as Google is concerned. You're simply paying a link for a link.

    Better to just share your own links on social networking sites where it is acceptable and possibly pick up some natural links from others who share your links, posts, or comments.

By participating in link exchange schemes, you bear the risk of getting penalized or even banned by the search engines.
