I always use double shorten links. For example: moneysite - tinyurl - bitly
I think it is safer way to promote your aff.link on youtube

I haven't tried the method to double shorten a link, but it still might be dangerous, as the bot will end up on the affiliate offer.

Anyway, I'm doing a lot of affiliate stuff on YouTube, and from experience the safest method is to redirect your traffic to a squeeze page, then send them offers via email. Conversions are definitely lower, however, once they opt-in to your list, you can email them multiple times.

Also google won't find out you are sending affiliate offers, so your videos will remain safe.

Is it possible to get videos/channel removed? Absolutely! It's against their TOS, and if your video gets flagged it will be instantly removed.

If you don't want to collect their emails, at least redirect the traffic to a landing page first, and then sell them redirect to the affiliate link.

If you need help ranking your videos, PM me or check my signature. It's very easy to rank for certain keywords by getting some high retention views + likes + comments =)

    Good luck,

I always send them either to a squeeze page or a blog post that provides even more value to whatever the product is they're researching. I try to give them a reason why they have to go to my blog to get the full 411 on the product by offering them something, like a checklist, tutorial, whatever will give me an edge over other YouTube marketers.

Get them to go to a page on your website, from the video, and then put the link in front of them.

I just show a forwarded link that is memorable in the video itself but have not hardlinked it anywhere. In the future I will direct everyone to a "resources" page on my website which will have all of the affiliate links.

Yup, this is exactly what I do. I make sure the page on my website is extremely simple and clean so they can easily find their way to my affiliate link.

Thanks everyone...seems like it's better to send them to my site rather than directly promoting the offer

yes it should be more safest way to move to your site rather directly promoting the offer because some of negative impact may be seen to the buyer by directly reach to them with offer.
