Compound Pinterest Growth - Exponentially

If I post 100 affiliate links on Pinterest today, tomorrow let's say 50 people repin my links. The next day 100 people pin my links, then 200, then 400, 800... and so on. In theory it would spread and grow forever.

Is it worth going this route with this strategy?

Anyone seen exponential growth on Pinterest this way?

  • I don't think its that simple. you need to be consistent. Do not pin all the links at once but rather split them, for example 10 pins a day depending upon how many links you got. secondly, try to post them on the relevant boards which have the highest number of followers.

  • This does not goes that way
    You get repinning effect to some extent then it all starts slowing down,
    Plus you need some big boards having big followers to start of
    Also pinterest usually takes down direct affiliate links pins pretty quickly...
    So it is somewhat long term strategy, it will take time to start getting a regular stream of traffic
    But you cannot expect exponential promotion for longer periods, it might just be there for couple of days

      1. You don't need to direct link with affiliate links. There are other ways without direct linking.
      2. Traffic - not hard to get with pinterest. It is what to do with that traffic.

      I still don't understand why the exponential growth wouldn't work with my theory. If you pin 1 pin and 3 other people pin it... there are 3x as many pins for other to discover on pinterest. Technically, it is the same pin through and through, but it is being exposed to 3x as many audiences - regardless of the audience size. Now lets say that of the 3 new pinners, 3 more people pin the same pin. That means that the pin is on my board, the 3 who pinned it, and then the 3 people that pinned from the original three pinners. That would make the pin visible on 7 boards or 7 audiences. Do you follow this logic?

      Now put 4 zeros on the end of that 1 original pin... and think if you had 1000 pins.

      Does anyone else not see how this could work? What am I missing?
  • It ain't that easy. Maybe if you have like 50 accounts with good following, you can get on stage 1 or 2 of your plan, but that's it usually.

    • Yes, now if you have 50 boards, each with 1000 pins, lets say shared with 5 people... you're looking at a lot of traffic.
  • I found it slow going. You don't want to post very many aff links at first. People don't like to be sold to. They like entertained.

    There is one thing I did hit upon and it got repinned at about 15 repins a day for a while when I got to about a thousand followers.

    It seems steady at about 10 - 15 visitors a day ( a month later) from continued repins. So again, the multiplying like rabbits thing just did not work in my case.

    If you join more boards that allow you to post your "stuff" then you can get your affiliate links out more. But don't over do it.

    P.S. I use prettylink plug in and can keep track of number of visits and reroute the visitors where I want them, when I want, but keep it to the same subject. Right now they go to my facebook page and it gives me a few likes a day, so more visitors to the facebook page.
