How Do You Create a Second FB Ads Account?

I have been looking around here and other forums for a definitive answer for the last few days with no success.

Here is my situation. I have been working in IM for a number of years. Like most seasoned marketers they get some accounts suspended or terminated. When I first started out I made mistakes. Even when I didn't stray even near the line sometimes an account would get closed. From my experience all networks have TOS so broad the minute you register you have violated some terms. So you are walking on egg shells no matter what you do.

I just started with FB marketing and have only 1 account which is being used to run ads. This time before jumping in feet first is I want a disaster plan in place so if there is a problem I can get up and running again quickly.

My primary use for my FB account is to run ads. I have fanpages but they are very small.

I live by myself, have 2 computers and have log into my FB account with both computers. Also I do have a DBA for my offline business, but don't have FB account for that.

Now I have some questions:

If your account gets suspended because of ads, is the entire account suspended and can't login? Or can you still login but can't run ads?

How can I setup a second FB account as insurance in case my first account gets suspended and not imperil my first account?

If one account gets suspended and FB knows the second account resides in the same residence will they automatically suspend the second account?

Thanks in Advance,

Harry

If one account gets suspended, it is only your advertising account that is suspended, not your personal Facebook profile, so you can still log in and use Facebook, you just can't run ads.

You mean creating a "dummy" Facebook profile? It's not worth it. Having more than one account puts you in violation of FB's TOS.

Like mentioned above, having more than one Facebook account puts you in violation of Facebook's TOS, so yes, if they find out your accounts are linked, you run the risk of having both of your advertising accounts suspended.

Just read through Facebook's advertising policies and make sure you aren't doing anything they don't like, and you won't have to worry about having your ads account suspended.

Thanks xismfofx22 for your input and you did answer some of my questions. I want to get all my ducks in a row before I start jumping in with both feet. As I mentioned before I want a disaster plan in place. In the past when I had an account terminated on other platforms I had to scramble.

There are other threads on WF where almost everyone admits to having multiple accounts. Now I don't know if they are just to make fanpages or they are for advertising. But I have always abided to the one account per person rule.

There are some people who break pretty much every FB policy and never have a problem with their account. While others do nothing wrong and have their account either temporarily or permanently suspended. With my experience in IM I don't abide by the motto "if you aren't doing anything wrong you don't have nothing to worry about." All the networks write their policies so broadly almost everyone is breaking some terms. Affiliate and advertising networks can pull the plug on anyone at anytime for any reason.

If nothing happens to my FB advertising account I won't create a second one. But if something unfortunately does I want to know exactly what I need to get up and running again.

To be honest Facebook is kind of all over the place with their advertising restrictions, so like you said you may run into an issue having more than one account or you may not run into any issues. It's a gamble

I set up a second account for ads because at the time I wanted to separate what I was doing for clients vs my personal stuff. I just used a different name, added a different credit card to it and there have been no issues so far.

That was about a year ago and I still use both...in some ways, it helps me keep track of things by separating them out and I use if for testing affiliate links, images and things like that.

        It can be done.
