How can I get traffic with Facebook ads?

I have just completed my website which I have set up to sell business cards and I am now looking into the best way of generating traffic to the site. I do not have much experience/success in this area. I have been reading into facebook ads and feel I may start with that but I am still a bit confused on some parts.

I can see that it is relatively easy to gather a large amount of fans to your facebook page, but how can I then get them to buy business cards through my site...

Would you:

1) provide an external link to the website from the ad then have a squeeze page on the website which gathers their email address

2) Gather fans to the facebook business page and promote the website through posts? The posts only appear in 10% of peoples newsfeeds so you have to pay more to reach more people for each post

3) Some other way?

I am looking to target small business owners

Any help/ advice would be great

I don't feel this translates well to facebook, it is just too boring an item to share with your friends. I don't see how you could make money with FBAds... possibly linkedin?

If you did use facebook ads, I would target your competitors likes, and only those that fit your demographic. Or use retargeted FB advertising from adwords.

I would promote the page and promote the posts on the page that lead to your website..
You'll find that on FB you can target a pretty specific audience and if you do this correctly, you'll generate the right audience and your money won't go to waste.. Not that it will cost much anyways.
Once you have an audience, you'll find that some people will share some of your posts, which is a healthy plus.. It's pretty much free advertising!

    Hope this helps..

    Cheers!

Linkedin is what I would like to use but I have no idea where to start with it

You better post your questions in the PPC section, there are the people who will be really helpful to you.

I don't know if it's right to post there, but I know for sure the PPC experts are there (:

And yeah, Facebook is a cheap and very good method to drive traffic for your website.
