How Long For 100,000 likes?

Just started my first Facebook ad campaign 3 days ago. Starting off slow at only $5 per day but it's going good with a high CTR of about 2.5-3.5% which has helped get my clicks down to about 15-20 cents and likes at about 20-25 cents.

I was wondering how many likes is usually needed before the page will start to grow on it's own naturally with just great content?

Was also wondering how long it can take to get to 100,000 likes? I guess it would probably vary on the level of advertising, post frequency, and page engagement, but I'm interested to know how long it's taken people, or how long it would take for you to realistically expect that many likes?

Thanks!

Some pages can take hours to reach that level, some can take days and some weeks, but most never do. Do a search on any niche and you will see a few with lots of likes but lots of pages with low likes.

It really depends on how you engage your audience, no matter how large or small. Encourage them to share posts. Give them something they want to share.

Once you reach a certain level then you should stop doing ads and let it grow organically.

You can push to 100,000 likes as fast as you want if you use the lowest cost countries to advertise in. At $5/day, you can get as many as 500+ likes per day which means you can be to 100,000 likes within a year. Most pages generally do not grow quickly without using global likes because the competition is intense in developed countries for organic likes and even in places like India where Facebook is being used to do business with the masses. If you want the most likes on your page, building with fans from these countries will help you get even more organic likes for free often from people next door to you:

    Trinidad and Tobago
    India
    Pakistan
    Nigeria
    Philippines
    Bangladesh
    Egypt

Is there any value to spend time building that kind of page to those countries? I realize his question was wanting more likes but I'm thinking I'd rather have 20K of highly targeted US likes than 100K from the list above. No?

Usually the cost to get 5,000 likes from the US is the same as 100,000 global likes from the countries I listed. Thanks for the info. I completely understand the value in having a large number of likes if your goal is to build a reputation for the purpose to work with other businesses. I'm thinking more along the lines of having fans take action on a CPA or Affiliate offer from me. I'm not sure if 100K fans from Africa would be as beneficial for me...maybe they would be.

Yea I'm only really looking at US likes because I do plan to do more affiliate and CPA offers in the future with the page, so likes from 3rd world countries don't really interest me.

Getting some cheap global likes initially can be a valuable strategy because it will build your social proof. Ideally, likes from people in countries who are more willing to buy is better for sales, but it will also help sales when your like count displaying below the ad is very high.

I recommend you to keep your automatic ads switched ON, even after you gain 10-20-30-50k likes. This will help you big time to get more interactions with your posts, and make your users get used to your page.

I am currently on that 100,000 likes path now. I have two ads running, one for u.s., uk and one smaller international countries. I am paying .3 cents per like for each ad.

Well, although is fine to have like a zillion likes, I still think it's more important, are those likes organic, or ad-based. Personally, I'd never use ads to get visits, especially not on social sites. People tend to trust a brand much more, if their friends really recommend it, not just like it because of the appealing advert.
So, instead of talking about the numbers of likes, I think it's worth talking about how bring people to your page the natural way. But that's just my humble opinion

I wouldn't target other countries..if that's the case you can get a fiverr deal and by 4k likes for $5 you may lose a couple hundred of them but its faster.

people liking your page is nothing without engagement. if they dont engage then FB will show to fewer people when you post and that kills your stats which defeats your purpose

You really need to check your strategy of buying likes in a light of new Facebook's policy. FB had cut down organic exposure by 90%. So Likes are now far inferring to direct ads, from profitability point of view. The only use for Likes is for branding, so you can look bigger and more established.

True, there a few things you can do to boost it without paying but ultimately you've got to pay to reach all of your followers.

I can see organic reach continuing until it's virtually 0%.

Took us around 7 months with no money spent at all. We snowballed to 500k after that until Facebook killed our organic reach.

It depends on the page. But still it can take around 1 year to get such more likes or you can pay to get more likes within short time.

20 cents for a like is too much. for this price you better make a squeeze page and capture their email addresses.

I am new to this business but have a suggestion for you. Use the facebook Power Editor for Creating Targeted ads that would only show to the users you upload. And this means, you can pin point your target audience. Say, you want to show your ad to people who are interested in "Swimming", Grab those people's Ids from pages and groups related to swimming.
If you want to get the targeted user's Ids then PM me.

I wouldn't get too hung up on geographical boundaries. Likes from secondary market countries (outside the US/UK/CAN/AUS) can be useful as long as you target their interests and make sure your language setting is to English. Keep in mind that all kinds of people people are living everywhere these days and if you can get an extra million targets from a handful of these countries, I say go for it.
