Promoting and building audience to new social network website

I have been looking for ebooks or books or websites that offer good up-to-date advice on setting up a new forum, how best to encourage people to post in a new forum with very few members and some specific marketing stratergies.

I just can't find very much out there. Does anyone know any really good resources I should be reading?

    - advertise your forum on other forums
    - if it's really2x new, create multiple accounts so it looks like its active

      Yeah, will look cool and will be promoting it online but still must be some specific stratergies. I don't like the idea of using things like postloop. Must be real people

    Maybe try to hire people to post on your forum so you can make it look active? Try Postloop for this.
