Nettiquite for Posting on Facebook

Greetings. I am getting ready to launch something that will be of interest to veterans, especially disabled veterans. While researching "Veterans" on Facebook, it says, "Over 1000." That's a lot of veteran related sites.

After a decade of resistance and it becoming virtually mandatory, I have succumbed to the lure of the demon seed and joined FB.

Having no experience with FB, I need to know if it is acceptable to visit these pages and post my information, or is that considered to be in poor taste? I really need to get this information in front of as many veterans as possible in the shortest amount of time. Please understand that I am not selling anything.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers. - Frank

You could try targeted ads to veterans. Get a FB scraper or have someone scrape the UIDs for you of people who are active on large veterans related pages, then do a newsfeed ad with it. It wouldn't be cheap, but it could be very effective, especially if you could relay the message you wanted to achieve within the ad itself without them having to click-through to anything.

Just a side note if you need UIDs scraped I'd be happy to get some for some large veteran-related fan pages on Facebook. People on Fiverr sometimes charge for it, but I'd be happy to get them for you. Anything that can help a veteran out shouldn't have a price tag attached to it.

Good luck getting your information out, if you're willing to pay some money, FB is a fantastic method. If not you could also focus on building a fan page around your message. It would take a lot longer, but eventually it could gain some traction. Create similar things on Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Stumbleupon, etc. and have them all linking to one another to drive traffic from other social media sites.

Well, honestly I did not understand a single word of that, except for, "it won't be cheap." Honestly, I have spent every penny I own to get this project launched and it appears that I am going to have to sell my car to put the final pieces in place. I don't mind that, since being totally-disabled myself I only use my car to food shop and to get to the VA for health care. Not a large issue for me and "anything for the cause."

Just what range does, "it would not be cheap," fall into?

This creates a real conundrum for me at a very personal level. I have never traded on my disability, nor my military service which created it and I don't have much regard for people that do. I have been told by friends and family that I need to modify that stance as this is no longer just about "me." I have paid my way through life and am much happier doing for others than I have ever been receiving assistance from others that have offered it to me. I want to do the proper thing for the project and if I'm serious about wanting to help others I am told that I will need to let my guard down, learn to trust others and graciously accept help at many different levels. I'd have to sleep on it for a few nights, I guess. It's a major shift in thinking at this point in my life.

I'm willing, just clueless as to what that could cost in the long run.

I think that's what I have, now. I created a personal page and then I created a page under that which I believe is a fan page. Not sure, though.

Uh, now you're pushing it. lol There are only so many hours in the day. I'm down to 5 hours sleep per night, already. With my health issues, that's dangerous. I'd actually like to live long enough to see this project reach fruition. Then I can die knowing I at least did one thing meaningful and memorable with my life. That's all I'm after.

I greatly appreciate your assistance and hope I can figure this out.

      Cheers. - Frank

There's a software called Social Lead Freak to extract Facebook user ID for TARGETED likes, interest or groups. you can extract a massive number of targeted FB users and upload it to your facebook ads!

29,712 people from facebook saw that post with the same interest.

I'm the VA of Ryan Shaw and we've been successfully gathered traffic and customers for our site, products and services. See this screenshot:
