Sometimes when you're at the Cutting Edge Forefront with a certain market that is still in it's 'infancy' such as Facebook Marketing... and their INCREDIBLY Effective FB Ads platform...
You can get some unforeseen news or 'changes' that can really throw a 'wrench' in your day... especially today!

Talk about a 'Case of the Mondays'... Haha..! =p (I'm still working through it, been non-stop ALL day)

In any regard there's a MAJOR Facebook update that I have my entire team working on at the moment...
So that SLF users can still fully benefit as usual. =)

I received a message today from FB's Developer team from whom I always get regular updates from... stating that they are making drastic changes to their Facebook API, which is used in Social Lead Freak as all of you are well aware of. =)

That is ALSO the reason why SLF users today are having an issue logging in.
Trust me... the first thing I noticed was my support desk getting a ton of messages. (many of you know I personally handle a lot of support tickets) =)

They are now requiring that all FB Marketers have their own FB Application in place under their account in their developer section. (you all have access to this)

Which is VERY simple to do..! =)

I and my team truly appreciate your patience while we get this in order and have NEW training videos put up in the member's area in how to very quickly and easily set this up. =)

So this is an FB Policy change and has nothing to do with Social Lead Freak itself.

Facebook Marketing is a Brave New World... and it's been a VERY PROFITABLE one for many of you & shall remain that way, especially after we get this FIX out to you while working through Facebook's changes.

Yes i got thanks. Is anything changing with the pricing model. In Warrior
forum some speculated that we hat do change to monthly payment now? I am
looking forward to become premium member but not if i am forced to do so.

There was no API update though so I don;t know what's up with that. FB Developer roadmap has nothing in regards to an update of any kind .. that + the disappearing act leads me to believe we have seen the end of SLF. But dang.. what a way to go out.

Have heard there is an update coming. That is that. Why the mystery and disappearing pages, I don't know.

They are working on the issue. I just emailed the support desk and got a reply. It will be fixed asap.

They sent me an email saying it should be up in 24-48 hours last night, so wait a couple of days then decide what to do next.

Edit: Just took a look at the SLF sales page to see if it had changed. It is still the same sales page; however, when you click the buy now it takes you to the sales page for FB Lead Chef. Weird.

Ali, owner of Social Lead Freak is aware of the issue and has already been working out a fix for existing customers. I've been working on making sure that everyone is aware that we care about our customers and will do anything we can to make sure they can always use the software if at all possible.

SLF support

You could look it as very clever marketing. They caused a panic for a day that resulted in thousands of users talking about their product in front of tons of non-customers.

Somebody should ask how many purchases are made in the next week.

i have problems on both SLF and the demographicfreak

it asks me to enter my app. i guess this is the email provided to SLF and the password i got from you?
When i do that it comes up a box that says. invalid ap id?

Second: Demographicfreak, i can login but it doesent show anything. just 4 square empty boxes?

In order to run the new version you must first register with Facebook as a developer. To register as a developer you must agree to Facebook's Privacy and Platform policies. The Ads API section (section X) of the Platform Policy is the section that I believe acted as the impetus for the changes to SLF. In particular, the following sub-sections stood out to me with a focus on 9c (bolded). Would love to here some interpretations of this language and whether you think this may pose a problem to SLF users moving forward or if it is simply a legal safety net for any potential privacy issues that may (or may not) arise....?

1. Separate apps: You must use separate apps for your staging, self-service, managed service, and white-labeled apps. If you offer a white-label version of your app, you must only do so by creating a unique app for each end-advertiser (or requiring each end-advertiser to create their own app) and you must include a required field for the third party to agree to Facebook's Platform Policies.

9.Custom Audiences:
a. If you use custom audiences you must comply with the Custom Audience Terms.
b. You may create a custom audience on a client's behalf but must only use the client's customer data to do so (ex: you must not collect or provide any additional data to create a custom audience).
c. You must not use Facebook User IDs to create custom audiences unless the person associated with the User ID has logged into your client's app and your client has secured any necessary consent from that person (ex: you must not create a custom audience based on users who have engaged with a Facebook Page).
d. You must not sell custom audiences, and must not transfer a custom audience to anyone without our permission.
e. Your custom audience tool may provide the same functionality and targeting options that Facebook provides, but you must not provide additional data or targeting options.

LF is all good and fixed. Users should check their Member's Area for the quick fix

Yeah, software is working fine for me right now. I had a couple problems at first, but the latest update fixed them. They provided a good fix, good job on Ali G. Marketing's part with getting it out quickly.

I have SLF 1.6, have not used it for a while, and now its not working - of course when i would really need it! The problem is that i can not connect to facebook.

As i read it many of the fellow Warriors ran into the same problem, so i was wondering if someone could make a step-by-step guide how to make it work! . . ?

Everything works fine... I see bugs this software, Its unfair to other who buy this copy.. Please fix this

been working so far for me... just keep on the updates and make sure you setup (with the fb app) properly from the beginning.

Q1. Is there an official change log ?
Q2. Can i extract UIDs from a like link because on some facebook pages it extracts active users for 7days,for some 20days,30days to even more than 24months . I think it depends on activity on the page. Lets assume i want to extract UIDs from a LIKE that is older than 10days but SLF displays only past 7days data for that page . Is it possible?

It works good however sometimes when we downloading the ids 'some errors' appears and we need to start redownload again. Some times waste of time. Overall good we can get cheap click for our fb ads campaign

I'm one of the first buyers of Social Lead Freak and loved the program when it first came out. Haven't used it for a while now but I'm gonna submit a ticket to see if they can bring me up to speed again.

Anyways, I was wondering... what is the best alternative to SLF? Anything out there that compares to it?

I'm just looking to see what my options are. I haven't really needed it for a while because my FB campaigns are rocking at the moment, but would be nice to have it as as additional tool.

question: most of the times I get a max of 243 posts to process (when scraping a Facebook page). is that the max allowed by the system??

Ive never seen more posts than that to process.

I have been trying to run the update on Social Lead Freak. I get the error downloading the update message. Error #16824
I am stuck with version 2.32. which does not have the Facebook API add on so I can connect with facebook again.

Has anyone figured out the steps or where to go to get the update the works?

Same here. Just tried using SLF and nothing. I get the same message error message. Somebody fix this please.
