Facebook - how to promote your affiliate products?

I have a fan page for my blog and the content from my blog automatically posts to the page when I make new posts. But I am trying to figure out how to post some of my affiliate products on my facebook fan page to add more of a variety of content. Any ideas?

Do you mean when you add products it will post automatically to your fan page? You can use the URL for each of your affiliated products and post it to your fan page.

I really appreciate your comments I think I will try the iframe tab. I currently use Hootsuite to automatically take content from my blog and post on fb but I need more of a variety of content. I definitely would not send them directly to the affiliate page but I want my fb page to seem appealing so they will want to keep coming back.

With Facebooks changes i would play it safe with the affiliate products and use an iframe tab like "woobox" on your fanpage. always mention in your posts that users can click the tab on your fanpage for some incentive or free report that deals with the niche you are in.

You can use the tab to build a list or redirect them to your affiliate product. Also don't forget.. when you post your blog post to FB you can "pin" the post with your cloaked affiliate link to the top of the page.

Hope this helps in any way!

I agree here. In fact, If you are setting up a iframe tab, why not offer a freebie with an opt in form and get a email address, then on the Thank-You/Confirmation page offer the product in the second half of the landing page. I do this all the time.

Also, on your page time line, you can now put a CTA button in the image. It does not work like a real button, but when they click anywhere on the time line image a pop up comes up with the image and the text post to the right. You could put a link in that text. But that would be a waste of a chance to get an email address. No sale is worth giving up a email list for IMHO.

You could create some short affiliate review videos to add to your Facebook fan page and then link to the page on your site where the site is reviewed. This might be better than trying to directly link to the affiliate site from Facebook. This would give you great content which your Facebook fans could enjoy while still advertising your affiliate products in a more subtle way which would not get flagged as spam.

This is a really good plan. Video is by far more engaging than other forms of media. The purpose of any form of advertisement for an affiliate product is not to sell it, but to pre-sell it. If the sales funnel on the product end is great, (and it should be if you are promoting it) then your job is just to get the lead to the funnel. That's how I see it anyway.
