Yes, you can get cheap clicks on Facebook. The benefits : lower ad costs and higher ROI. The cons : if you target your audience poorly, those cheap clicks will be useless.

There are people in every niche imaginable hanging out on Facebook, so yes, there are plenty of people in the IM/MMO niches who are willing to buy products you promote. I sell products this way every day.

If you're talking about promoting affiliate products or products on your own site, direct linking sends the people who click on your ad directly to a sales page of the product you are promoting/selling. Running ads to grow fan pages or groups is entirely different from sending clicks outside of Facebook. With a few exceptions, your costs will be higher sending traffic outside of Facebook than they will be if you're growing pages/groups through ads.

The amount of time you devote to monitoring your ads and setting up new ones is entirely up to you. Any PPC campaigns takes a lot of testing, tweaking, and optimizing, so the more time you spend on the ads, the more successful they will be.

If you don't want to put in the time to advertise on Facebook yourself, outsource the work.

1 - you'll need a facebook account to run facebook ads.
2 - they offer conversion tracking... but there are probably some better tools to use

    1) Yes .. and the pro should be obvouse, the con .. not really many

    2) Facebook has 1 billion users. 1 in 7 people (aprox) on the planet are on Facebook. There are millions of people in every niche on Facebook

    3) People dont like to be taken off Facebook when they click an ad. Linking off Facebook tends to have a much higher bounce rate

    4) You get what you put in.

    5) If building fans, interacting with people, working up a relationship with your customers seems like a chore than you might want to avoid Social Media honestly. Or at least outsource the work.

If you havent used Face book ads before, its advisable to start with small budget, analyze your reports, that will help you to understand how face book ads work.

If you want to run ads in the news feed you have to have a fan page to run them from. Now you don't have to do anything with it if you don't want, you can just run straight news feed ads that link to you site or tab. Or you can run a dark post that only people you target will see and do the same thing.

Facebook is not as hard as a lot of people think it is, the key is targeting. Most people think you need a huge audience in the 1000s or more to have success, but I prefer small extremely targeted audiences usually less than 1000. You just need the right tools and teachers, like anything else.

One of the most important things in FB advertising, is ti build the right audience for your product. make a research, check similar fanpages and groups, extract the IDs of these users, create a custom audience and upload it. Your possibilities will increase significantly than just just passively letting FB choose the audience for you.
