Hello,

I am building up a music review site and have created a Facebook page for my site but when I try to search Google for info on how to build up the FB page and create user engagement I am getting a little overwhelmed.

Can anyone offer some suggestions or links with bite-sized info on getting a FB page going.

So far I have just posted news about my website and blog posts and have gained about 300 followers but engagement is very low. From the FB stats and a few other sources I have a pretty clear idea who my fans are but don't know where to go from here.

I'm trying to figure out how often to post, what to post (ie blog updates, trivia, contest, ect), when to post, if I should have a capture page (since I don't know much about how to use one), ect.

Originally I wanted to build the site as niche site that I could make affiliate sales through several music sources but ended up just creating a site about a subject I love.

I want to figure out how to maximize the benefits of having a FB page and promote my site and then learn how to monetize on my site and FB page.

Daniel

I have been shying away from ads because I don't feel like I have enough to offer through my FB page yet to justify the expense and I don't want someone to come to my page from an ad and find a mediocre FB page. Thank you for the links!

        1. Buy an fb ad coupon for 7 or 8 bucks on fiver and run like campaigns(50$ from coupon should get you to 1.5-2k maybe more)
        2. After recent algo change(about which you can read here for example: http://www.warriorforum.com/social-m...hm-change.html) you need to work harder for the exposure, wich means that you have to post more often(couple of times a day) to get more engagement(assuming of course that you're posting interesting content)
        3. Read what you can about faceboook promotion tehniques, there are so many ways to use it.

Post on peak hours when people usually go on Facebook. It may vary for you depending on your demographic.

Also don't just post a status or link, post a photo to go along with whatever content you want to share. It usually gains more interaction that way but not only that, the more interesting the photo the more engagement it will get because it will get people curious hence, liking/sharing/commenting.

Lastly the best way to get your reach is by posting videos in my opinion.

      Nice observation.

Photo and video is the best way to get more traffic. Because people feels bore while reading something big.

Actually peak hour and off peak hour is not the fact. No body knows when is the off peak hour for Facebook. I got 1000+ likes at late night 3 am in my country.

        Good suggestion.

As there is no peak and off peak hours analysys of when you are posting helps. In addition it is wise to analyze types of posts get more responses. Following the analysis will help to get better result quickly.

For my page if I posted during hours when people are more likely sleeping I noticed I don't really get as much interaction as compared to usually in the mornings when people wake up to check their FB, lunch, and night before people go sleep.

I have a few pages but tested on a page with 417k likes.

          Cheers

      Awesome suggestions! Thank you!

I do music reviews then follow up with a video recap review I post on Youtube and didn't even think about sharing those on my FB page!

As I mentioned previously, to clarify make sure you actually upload the video on to Facebook and not just post the link. Upload video then link it to your Youtube channel.

        Good luck!
