Fiverr FB Likes? What for?

Hey guys, i was wondering
why would people go on to fiverr to get likes on theri fb pages?
I mean, they pay like $50+ dollars to get 10,000 Likes, but those likes are from people who wants likes on their own page.
You see with that being said,

from experience, those who liked your fb pages will then unlike upon seeing your post.
Another point is, they are not interactive in the page, i have like 100+ exposure on one post and zero engangement whereas i do have engangement on the same post on another page.

I just dont see the point in having likes on your page if you are not even able to grow it from there.
Can someone clear this up for me?
What am i missing?

The ONLY time I buy likes is when I START a page.

I'm going to promote the page I start and get "real" likes but I don't want to promote a page where the counter says "9" so I will buy a few thousand - even though they're worthless - to ramp up the counter.

This, by the way, has been proven: people are more likely to LIKE a page that has been liked by others.

Their research starts...... and ends with the counter (where it says "1,547 people like this...")

Humans are "sheep" in this respect, nobody wants to lead the pack and be the first to "like". BUYING what I call "seed likes" solves this problem.

This the ONLY circumstance under which I'd recommend buying "likes".

It just creates social proof. That means the more people like your page, the more others will be liking it.

If you are just starting, then get yourself something like 300-500 likes from fiverr and then start advertising. As suggested above, it's harder to get people to like you, when you have 9 likes

I would rather run giveaways starting off and promise more giveaways in the future, only post when you have a following who is interested in what you post. I learned my lesson and will never buy likes again for a fan page nly worth it if real humans click like.

    hey melvin,
I understand your point but the rest have a point has well.
Its true, you have to treat buying fans as the start up cost of setting up an fb page.
It will drive people to like your page more.

I don't know if it's still like this, but before, if you wanted to give a certain name/url of your FB page, let's say facebook.com/yourpagename, your page should have had a certain amount of likes (I don't remember how much). So a person can buy FB likes to take the desired name (if available) when he/she makes a new FB page. I have done this for 2-3 pages in the past.

If you have new page that have less then 100 fans, then you need to buy fans. Why? Because, when people see that you already have 2-3 thousand fans they will more easily decide to like your page. So you will only need them as bait for the real fans.

      Well it depends,

Facebook likes, are some kind of social proof but without real fans your page is dead in the water. Yes, one can check your page and see 10k likes but without interaction on your posts likes don't mean a thing.

As someone said, you should maybe consider giveaway, or some other contest that can gain certain amounts of likes fast.

If you consider new Facebook algorithms you'll see that there is a clear drop of free engagement and reach so you have to try and develop relationship with your community (similar to your mailing list) which will ensure active fans and new participants.

Btw - you can always run those stupid but targeted Ad campaings: If you like ermm... dogs, press like (or something ). Community still responds well and this way you could gather real real likes.

buying likes is pointless, why don't people just get it properly with real people.

It's true that you can't make money from those fake likes, but the only reason is people who make new pages are always looking for instant likes so the page may look bigger.

Yes, it's true because fake likes are just simulation of human behavior using software. People mostly buy likes for "social proof" when starting with their pages.

      Fake likes = 0 engagement = no conversions = $0
