Blog Name Different Than Site?

Hi,

I have a blog on my site, but I don't like it. it looks clunky. It's not on a WP platform and just doesn't look nice.

I want to have a blog created. I have OP2 and intend to have it built on a WP platform. I don't want to have my entire website rebuilt right now.

How important is it to have my blog be an extension of my main site?

    It's a nice idea to build separate blog either in Blogger or WordPress. Having such blog makes more weight-age to your website and its ranking. You can design your blog your own way with pre approved themes available on the blog.

    Hi Eric,
    When you create a website, you just understand the logic of your website visitor. If you think that design changes from your main site to your blog will affect the overall user experience negatively then certainly, you should not use a different layout for your blog.

    However, There is an option...
    You can create a WordPress theme or get the WordPress theme created by an expert to match up your existing main website, if you feel that your main website's design is good.

    It is never essential.

    Case in point with a small, upstart company called Google:

    Adwords main site: Google AdWords â€" Online advertising by Google
    Adwords blog: Inside AdWords

    Most of us use Wordpress as an all-in-one solution, hosting both the main content and the blog (not always mutually exclusive.) But really, so long as you're putting out good content and/or services, this sort of thing shouldn't matter too much. Just give visitors clear pathways to get where they want.
